I See a Dove and a Crow

I see a Dove and a Crow. One fly's high,
the other fly's low.

Which one shall I follow? Oh my,
which way shall I go?

There is freedom found the higher
you go. You won't find it by staying
below.

I'm going to follow the one flying
higher.  Come and join me, come on;
let's go.

The Homeless

Some homeless began as precious sons and daughters;
loved ones gone astray, others thrown away; a high
price to pay.

Left alone to survive; hard lessons to learn; no choice
they say.

We see them every day; holding up signs on street corners;
present are babies with red leather faces; stolen innocence;
learning their trade; another generation to fade.

The wait outside gas stations, grocery stores, convenience
stores, and fast food places; begging for a dollar.

They are the ones in dark corners; taking drugs to dull their
pain; no refrain; selling their bodies for the price of a bed;
nothing more to be said.

We see them in doorways, under bridges, cardboard boxes
and public parks; no room at the shelter; some prefer outside;
paranoia on the rise.

They wander day after day, passing the time away. With dirty
clothes and bowed heads, they pass us, purposely avoiding
that look in our eyes.

We donate to all sorts of causes, but won't stop to give a
homeless man water.

Who knows what caused them to live this way. Does it really
matter?

There are many who help; do all they can, but so much more
is needed to help our fellow man.

The Lord Mighty In Battle

God's anointed are chosen to stand against
the children of darkness; those devoid of light.

They become the prey, none-the-less, they
choose to stay.

Surrounded by the enemy day and night;
stuck in the lions den; no help in sight.

Lions, tigers, wolves and bears; ready and
waiting to tear them apart. Citizens are
terrorized; some become traumatized,
others desensitised.

But when His anointed call upon Him,
He is their present help, their protector,
their deliverer, their strength and their
peace.

He is the Creator, the one who will fight
the imitator. Whole Cities shall be won,
 by just one. The Lord Mighty in Battle.

San Francisco

San Francisco, the City by the Bay; an enticing treasure;
relocating with family, I found it

Appealing to all ages.

Nesting there; moving forward in this City of unlimited
possibilities.  It has

Fascinating cultural diversity; people and places make up
its foundation.  You can

Ride a bike, drive a car, or take public transportation;
getting around, made simple, having everything in place.

Appetizing, fragrant dishes; eating is never boring in this
town.

No sites unseen; playing tourist, losing time unredeemed,
where

Cable Cars speed up and down; tourists hold on for dear life,
to prevent falling out. You find

International visitors posing at sites, asking friendly locals to
snap their pictures.

Spending time with family and friends; adding to treasured
memories, then

Coming back home to resume my life; treasures are stored
in their special place.

Once in a while, I take them out; wondering, to what degree
this beautiful City has enriched my life.

The Journey

The journey to reach the mountain top may
be difficult.

Digging deep into the ground as you climb:
you slide back down.  Discouragement
and utter despair; more weight to bear.

With slippery slopes, craggy paths and
stumbling blocks abounding; you start over
and over again.

You may think you will never reach the
top, but keep your resolve and continue
climbing; it's all in the timing.

Awaken America Awaken

Awaken America, Awaken. Why do you fret?
We allowed our rights to be taken; inevitably
giving rise to our nations demise. Our
inalienable rights are at stake in these United
States; our legitimate claim. But, all is not lost,
at least, not yet.

Awaken America, awaken, or more shall
unfold, just as our forefathers foretold. Have we
forgotten what our nation was founded upon;
what made us great? Continuing at this pace,
it is only a matter of time before all our liberty
will be taken.

Awaken America, awaken. All nations have
problems to solve; we are not exempt. Have
we forgotten, regardless of our differences, we
are one people; one nation? Have we forgotten
there is no justice without judgement.

Awaken America, awaken. There are those
who choose no refrain; forcing views not
shared by the nation as a whole. Yet we live as
victims of egregious systems; seen as weak and
conditioned to believe everything is out of control
and beyond repair.

Awaken America, awaken, or repercussions
we will continue to see, until we stand firm
and fight once again to be free; one nation
under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice
for all.

Tucker

Tucker is our eighty pound Dogo
Argentino family pet.

Under foot is where he lays.

Creeping into the kitchen at the
smell of food; hoping, if he’s lucky
he’ll get a crumb, or two.

Keeps me tripping; he’s leading,
then he abruptly stops, to see if
you are still behind.

Evening and morning; you see
two shadows, one is mine, the
other is not.

Rotten; spoiled beyond repair.
He doesn’t know he is a dog,
he thinks he is human.

Christian

You say you are a Christian. How do I
know? How can I tell. When a look is
wrongly perceived, or a word is
misunderstood, do you have the
latitude to have an attitude?

Christian, what makes you different?
What sets you apart? Where are you
when I'm stumbling and fumbling
through life? Where are you when
festering, pestering issues are plaguing
my life?

Christian, where are you? Show me the
way to go. After all, aren't you supposed
to know?

Treasure

Much has been concealed; a treasure
to be revealed.

The Holy Spirit doesn't play. He wants
to start with you today. He will teach
you to remove all the wrath, before He
can set you on your path.

He will guide you through bouts of self-
doubt, and all the pain that was in vain.

You will know with surety, once you
reach maturity, you are the treasure.

Angels

transendent beings
bright opulent white feathers
very rarely seen

sent to do God's will
from trans-dimensions they come
messages they bring

always wrapped in light
coming from heaven above
knowing all our needs
