Happiness In Oppression

Happily blinded by oppression
yet oppressed in a happy manner
being unemployed is circumvented
by the heavy consumption of alcohol
I gulp down my sorrows..

Yet I have learned to be joyful
Friday night around brown bottles
ex haling the brightest tomorrows
Talking about sweet nothings
We the slaves of our own minds..

Intoxication sees as a way out
poverty becoming the latest trend
We suffer to the core that through
All this pain,depression,oppression
we are rehearsed to give a fake smile
and see only happiness...

I Tell You of a Queen

I tell you of a Queen

As dawn crept upon me silently.
The ear picks up on a bath prepared.
Breakfast flirting with my nose,
A true mother you are...

Her love brings solace to a community
and humbles troubled,treason ed hearts.
Caring for the young and old souls
I tell you about a mother...

I tell you of a pillar
There at every talent show
A savior in life cruxes
Mother of true diligence indeed.

I searched for adjectives,
none suffice you dear mother
I ended up with this...
Mother you are love.

Seed of Rape

Seed of rape

He swept her of her feet
with sweet nothings.
Tall,dark handsome were
his appearance to her.
This is where it all began...

Roses and flowers made her weak.
Charming eyes that gave attention.
Caring ears that listened attentively.
Cautious nose that admired her efforts
to smell beyond exceptional.
This was her dream...

Love is what was in her heart.
Lust is what was in his mind.
She was not ready to become a woman,
he seemed to understand.
They began to share breakfast,lunch.
She knew not dessert was
already on his mind.

One winter afternoon he came
she welcomed him inside.
He had come to destroy her.
She was grabbed and at that
moment her scream was silent.

Him ripping off her rags.
Her scream met by a slap,
he pounces away forcefully.
She moans and groans sadly,
he reaches his threshold and
flees from her sight.

I am the seed of rape.
I will be brought into the
world with a story of shame.
I was not conceived through love
but sinful greed...

The Night Life

The nightlife!

Like potent owls of nature
we become vibrant in the night.
Daylight circumvented by sleep.
This nightlife is a buzz..

The streets are flooded
substance abuse increasing drastically.
Morals become looser on hips,
values no longer fit our style.
This nightlife is brutal...

In the mist of tobacco
the burden of reeking beer
I struggle to see a light.
We have become oppressors
of our own tomorrow.
This nightlife corrupts...

The night life disguised as fun.
Steals dreams and ambition,
manipulates the dress code
of success to seem of grief.

This life has left me weak
inseparable from a tot
My lungs seem reliant on
what seems fun to a teenager

I am filled with aggression
insomnia a lifestyle.
If only in my more fragile years
I realized that school rhymed
with cool.
I would have been right
In avoiding the night..

My Dear Scarf

My dear scarf...

Winter nights on swarming streets,
a warm feeling you bring me.
To colds I was hard to get
with you around my neck.

Attractive you made me
and hid bad hair days.
A true catch I was with
you around my neck...

I knew not you were
a scarf to every lady.
You brought joy and warmth
to other necks.

At that moment you became
a serpent around my neck.
Strangling, suffocating and sabotaging
me for the rest of my life...

The Music

Simultaneous patterns arranged in
a manner that ignites deep inner emotion
Cause various physical reactions in the form
of tapping,clapping,nodding
These are simply orchestrated...

In this train with my booming headphones
the rhythm makes me lose my train of thought
I seem to be in a trance for that time
drums,guitars,pianos,violins all in sync
Simply cause movements of the limbs..

El musica a universal language
talking to the new found lovers
connecting to the gifted dancers
motivating the poets causing a reaction of sort
Which I continue to fail in explaining..

The poets can second me that music tends
to tarnish what we call writers block
These recurring beats provided the correct atmosphere
and courage to go down on one knee
activating a zestful response to my lover
La musica, The music...

If Walls Could Talk

If walls could talk dear Mother
You would know dads secrets
Late night business meetings
would be undressed for what
they really were...

If walls could talk dear Father
You would realize that she is heartbroken
Maybe if you just listened
you would hear her most silent cry...

I wish they could talk Mother
you would hear un sterile confessions
Do you not smell the various perfumes?
Do you not see the lipstick stains?
Are you blinded by the view of a different future?

I wish walls could talk Father
What you call fun is dreadful
Since walls cannot talk I will
steadily volunteer myself
As painful as it would be
divorce would be a force forced...

Little Did I Know

Little did I know...

I turned a cheek to your flaws,
loved you unconditionally.
I believed you were a spinster
Little did I know...

Like crops dependent on rainfall.
I thought you would be mine forever.
I dreamed of my heir between
your chest and thighs...

I had no car but
was quick to your summon.
You told me I was the one.
I contemplated marriage...

Little did I know
you were not a spinster,
and that you heartless
husband would put me in a wheelchair

Mysterious Mistress

Mysterious mistress

Honey you married me happily
yet you spend nights there.
I lie in the middle of our
bed to balance out the pain.
When will you come home?

Your mistress brings distress.
I continue to vow for you
although you break our vows.
I will lose this weight
just stop making me wait.
Honey when will you come home?

This mistress I curse deeply
and hope she ends up in a hearse.
I utter this with no remorse
as she stole my ever after.
Baby when will you come home?

I will raise our unborn child
without expecting any praise.
A call from the police
bringing no solace at all,
notifies me of your death.
I realize you won't be coming home.

My child has lost a father.
Your mistress has lost a lover.
I lost you way before your
untimely death dear darling.

I Asked You

I asked you to wait...

I had noothing
but love for your pretty face
You were made of royalty
I was born into poverty
this could not be our ever after
I asked you to wait...

I felt a sense of warmth towards you
Your smile a constant reminder of joy
After a night of passionate love
I could not accept this poverty
I needed time to be a success
I asked you to wait...

I needed you to wait my dove
This poem written years later
In a life graduared from poverty
Teary eyes,a shattered soul
Your fragile heart in his clumsy paws
I watch in great grief

I thought of saving you
But your ring shun to bright
causing me to act lightly
And turn the other cheek
I walk away disgruntled
You failed to wait for me.
