rain

as the flowers
bloom in the spring
remembering the rain
softly shedding itself
from the very earth itself
giving life and hope
for gentle passings
bowing their head
to their chest
as dandelions...
softly whispering
then joining
as one with the wind
calling them home

We Can Only Hope

We can only hope

We can only hope
for a peace
that comes 
at the end of day
knowing
we lived and loved...
as best and
as hard as we could...
we knew
the storms would come
but we can never 
be quite ready...
only when the winds
finally become 
a gentle breeze
and softly caresses 
our souls...
can we enjoy them again...
and cherish 
that which we have lost
and were so fortunate 
to have had
