In My Daughters Eyes

In my daughters eyes I can see the world.
I can see all of life’s wonders wrapped up into one little girl.
What will she do when the world shows its unforgiving ways?
How will she live without regret to succeed to brighter days?
In my daughters eyes I see the innocents of a child.
I see an inspirational being yet composes to be meek and mild.
In my daughters eyes hides the truth of what we all need to know.
The truth of unconditional love the one thing we all need to show.
In my daughters eyes I see the strength that will carry her through.
And into my eyes she stares back hoping to see all of the things in her that I do.

The Beauty You'Ve Been Given

Beauty comes within you and all around you.
Take a glimpse at the world what do you see?
Take a look at the stars, do you feel free?
Beauty is a gift that rarely comes around.
Beauty is a blessing that cannot be found.
You can try looking for it and you will come to find,
That the only beauty within you can be controlled by your mind.
So you don’t want abuse the gift gods given you, because if you abuse you’re
given beauty, to god your heart won’t stay true.
So while he looks down on you from a little place called heaven.
He sits and waits for you to mistreat the gift that you’ve been given.
But if you stay smart and begin to recognize that your rare beauty is a gift and not
a winning prize.

My Gift

We go through life trying to find that one person that can make us shake.
Unfortunately to find that we must make a few mistakes.
God knows I’ve made mine but I don’t regret the past.
I took away with me two little girls; the love between us will forever last.
We all struggle inside
With those demons we hide.
But we rise above for the sheer fact that we all must open up to love.
There are so many amazing gifts in life.
But most of us look past them and wonder why
We all pay a ruthless price.
All we have is the breath in our body, the sunset and rise again.
We have body, mind, and soul within.
So if that’s all we truly have than why do most people think it is everything else
that matters?
Those people are worse off than I; eventually their lives will shatter.
I acknowledge all that I have, and embrace it to the fullest extent.
I will pass true heart and soul to my little girls, and one day like me they will feel
heaven sent.

ROOTS

ROOTS

A fallen seed left bare and alone
Whisked away far from home
She lives in the shadows, waiting for the day
When the warmth and light would come her way
She weathers the storms in solitude and despair
Wondering if there is anyone to care
She remains diligent as she is beaten to the ground
Holding on for dear life, trying not to make a sound
Would anyone hear her if she cried?
Would it matter if she continued to try?
Days turned into years as her roots were set into place
Growing stronger, the storms she could now face
The clouds parted and the sun beamed
It was on this day, that she finally felt seen
All of the fight and tenacity through the doubt
She had a purpose, her leaves began to sprout
They swayed back and forth, she knew this was the reason why
All of the pain came to this, the reason that she tried
They were hers, so delicate and true
She had to protect them, so they would never have to go through
Wondering if they were loved or if they had a home
She was theirs and they would never be alone
More storms came and went but together they stood tall
She knew this time was bittersweet, eventually like her, they would fall
The seasons rotated and the day had come
For her precious sprouts to drift away, one by one
She knew this would happen, but knowing did not seem to stop the ache
Watching the extensions of herself, slowly drift away
She held her ground, knowing the breeze would carry them on their pursuit
She had faith they would flourish because in their hearts they knew,
They came from strong roots
