The Greatest Man I Know

There is a man of grand stature
He is admired near and far by many
He is old and wise and trustworthy
He makes me smile when I think of him
He makes me laugh when I least expect it
He gives me advice whether I need or want it
He is my hero, he is my everything
Without him I would be lost
With him in my life I have the greatest thing in the world
I have my dad

Autumn

Array of colors red and yellow
Fall to the ground
In swirl patterns or just free fall
Autumn

November Rain

The rain is sliding down my window sill
ever so peacefully and calmly
the air is crisp and it has a bit of a cutting chill to it
the leaves are blowing around in swirls their colors hitting the rain puddles
November rain is here at last
ever so comforting is the thunderstorm as I slip into my bed with a book
I read to the beats of the thunder while the rain pours down my window
My mind eases and I relax to pitter pats that I hear
For the November rain is here

Colors

I see a hue of colors of blue, purple, yellow, orange, red, and green
They swirl around forming many different shapes and designs
Colors of different sorts shows pictures and forms that only I can create
On my canvas I can paint and make all the vibrant colors that my eye can see
I can create pictures that come to life
Colors make the world a more vibrant place and when creation is formed
Colors makes everything a more glorious and marvelous place to see

At the Endof the Rainbow

There is a rainbow at the end of an old oak tree
There is not any ribbons, bows, or gold, but it is free

It is only for me
for my eyes to see

It contents remains a mystery
It is something that has been down in history

So I looked one day and I found an old picture
It made me so much richer

My Children and Their Mittens

My children and their mittens they lose them all the time
They can't keep ahold of them no matter what they do
They put them in their pockets and they fall out
They put them on their dresser and they forget them
They put them in their closet and they can't find them
My children and their mittens what will I do
So I decided that I would sow them in their sleeves of their coats
And my children, they never lost their mittens again

Now That I Am Older

Now that I am older and wiser I like red
Red is the color of vibrancy and brightness
Red says hello I am here, I will be heard, and I stand out
I will not be ignored or hide in the shadows no more
I will wear red floppy hats in the summer with bows or flowers
I will wear red shirts and dresses that say I have arrived
I will decorate in red and plant red flowers
I will dance on the verandas and sing my favorite songs
I will visit all of my favorite places and read all of my favorite books
Now that I am older and decided that my favorite color now is red
I find beauty in things that I never have before
I find brilliancy in colors that I haven't when I was young
Now I sit and ponder, I wonder, what I will like when I am old blue?

These Walls

These walls are closing in around me
I feel alone trapped in my own despair
I look around and I can't escape
I am afraid of my life
Everyone around me acts like I am a burden

These walls are closing in around me
And I have no where to go
I sit and wonder why my life is the way it is
Does anywhere care anymore
If I faded in these walls would anyone notice

These walls are closing in around me
I cry out but no one is there
So I sit alone in my own despair
I am a lost soul in a world that don't care
I fade away in these walls hoping someone will care
