You Are Rare

You are a poet, your words form a poetry,
You are a magician, you have magic in your authenticity,
You are an artist, I adore your life's artistry,
You are perfect, your imperfections shape your existence with clarity,
You are courageous, I take pride in your bravery,
You are kind, I bow before your heart of charity,
You are a happy soul, I will always love you heartly,
You are rare, I worship you in austerity.

A Confession Letter From Across the Oceans

You used to ask me why am I so reticent,
So here it is, my confessions from oceans distant,
I am a quiet human being,
Use silence for a living,
Trust no one to ask my worrying questions,
Believe no one to seek help from dear and near ones,
But my soul refuses to stay silent on my problems,
Therefore it bursts out through my poems,
Under my pillow you will find an ornate book,
My feelings, my emotions are jotted in its every nook,
And if you feel I still deserve your time,
Please give me a chance, I will wait across the oceans, even for a lifetime.

The Girl With Me Under the Umbrella

It was the month of June,
When the whether had changed its tune,
The rain was lashing down,
It's wrath had drenched the town.

All the human beings succumbed to their warm abodes,
All but me, who was wandering along the water filled roads,
It was dark, and a blue umbrella in my hand,
Walked on and on, till I saw a lone girl in a bus stand.

She was hopeless, she was searching for help,
Until she saw me, she ran to me with a yelp,
Without hesitating, without asking, she reached under my umbrella,
Shivering and content, she chirped "thanks, fella!".

And I saw her face, clearly,
She had scars, wounds and charred, nearly,
She was an embodiment of abuse and painfulness,
She was an incarnation of fear and grimness.

She was happy, she got a companion in me,
she was hopeful, she was blindly trusting me,
I asked her " why are you alone?",
She replied " I was always alone".

"Hope always repelled me,
Happiness is scared of me,
But I never gave up,
I always have, with poise, my chin held up".

"Evil always have wandered around me,
The aura of submission always strayed around me,
Time have shown me the most difficult phases of life,
But here I am, with memories imprinted on my face, throbbing with life".

I was numb, I was mesmerized,
She was some angel, she had me enlightened,
She was ugly in looks, but she was lovely,
Oh god! I have fallen for her, she was so lively.

Till the moment I met her,
I had called myself a loser,
I was the famous, rich and handsome, who, within was a loner,
I had lots of friends, fans, followers, but they were friends with my money, fame and my power.

"Have I seen you somewhere?" She asked me, eyes wide,
"Might have, but not relevant", I was enjoying this edified ride,
I had no destination, I just walked by her rhythms,
I had no worries, she led me softly like a calm zephyr.

And suddenly we stopped, she had reached her destination,
She smiled at me, thanked me and went away to an unknown direction,
I was blank, reached out for the rain,
It had stopped long ago, for my umbrella was completely dry.

Again I was solitary,
The cold wind stopped, which was once fiery,
I adored her, but was sorry for myself,
I wasn't good enough for her, an unfortunate pal for a fighter like herself.

Being An Introvert

A creation of god, a universal gift,
Moulded with feminine aspects, a lively introvert,
I have a heart, a mind, a soul without a rift,
I am a person, developing in this world, covert.

I may not speak, but my mind does,
My soul is screaming, so vibrant and ardent,
My heart is full of words, loud and conspicuous,
Open your ears, you shall hear my sentiment.

My beliefs are stronger on a piece of paper,
They choose the mighty ink than an ornate word,
They flow like a stream, impatient and eager,
And there you find no barriers to the millions of realms that I created.

I am shy, I have my own sphere to breath,
I am practical, I know to live the life which is real,
I am silent, and have fear of the future so forth,
But shall make sure, through my unique way, hail the world from the territory of my goal…..

The Newspaper Reader

While walking through the familiar road,
Connecting my commence and the destiny,
The road that took me to the humanity of knowledge,
Delight, opportunities and revealed mysteries,
My college, a bastion of courageous queens and the influential,
While I marched towards the terrain where women ruled the humankind,
I saw a man, with a jute bag in one hand and a newspaper in other,
In front of me, walking gradually, with watchful steps did he ensue,
He was reading the paper, engrossed in the news of the day
Under the vitamin D sun, tranquil zephyr and breezy lashes of the trees,
He went on, juxtaposed between his world and the actual world,
Carrying the jute bag, concerned less for his immediate environs,
Reading while on foot, he knew the best, for he did the same,
In front of me, walking by my same course,
And when unexpectedly he stopped, and turned left,
Nearing a series of shops and a bakery,
He passed all those and reached near a tiny shutter,
Opened the closure, and there it was,
He had reached his destiny of the day,
A miniature extent with liberty for hardly a person,
Stood a Xerox machine, cleaned and set,
And there he unearthed the board painted “Xerox” in yellow,
Hanged outside the petite room and sat on a crumbling stool,
And then he resumed into the globe he was so fascinated about,
The newspaper, crisp and hot, brimming with reports, gossips and testimonials,
He went on, conceded to the factual world around…….

The Unusual Traveller

I am an animated spirit,
Living in time and space of unceasing transit
I have learnt to live in worlds of diverse odours and hues
An unusual traveller, a body of unique concepts and views.

I have dealt with figures of assorted cultures,
I have smelt the soil of distinct motherlands,
I travel as an institution of philosophies and customs of my ancestries,
An unusual traveller, well preserved by my society of genesis.

I blend with different beliefs, I live with different masterpieces of the supreme deity,
I am my homeland’s tradition, embracing other’s ethnicity,
I am a glowing soul, empathetic to the altered souls coming on my way,
Yes, I am an unusual traveller, still having my aim far away.

Wherever I go, I have been encompassed as their fraternity,
Embracing their mother tongue have led me to their thoughts of divinity,
I am a messenger, appearing in one’s life for short spells,
And make my presence felt, of this unusual traveller’s.

I may be anywhere, so don’t try to discover me,
If I have not met you, I may be now in someone’s life,
If my itinerary of destiny has your name, we shall meet,
And I will be your angel, this being a word of an unusual traveller to you.

Never Been a Village Girl

I live in towns, in between the towering building,
But still those mud houses call me, far-flung,
I live amidst the infected hinterland,
But could heed the calls of fields and immature land,
I stay in air, in a creation with windows and doors,
But could see those homes with a large ground and moors,
Save the flowers, trees and animals, we yell,
Still exists in villages, which no one would tell,
People here, with work in their mind,
But villagers, hunt for new friends they could find,
I am a town girl,
Even though those villages lure me and their beauty do they unfurl,
But lives still going in endless curl,
And I have never been a village girl…

I Saw Him Play

In this era of vicious technology,
Virtual existence and virtual relationships dominating people’s life,
In this phase of conversations through short-hand chats and electronic letters,
I saw him play, in the playground, with pebbles and sticks.

Darkness

Stars shine in the night,
Moon becomes invisible in the daylight,
Fairy lights have it's magic displayed in the darkness,
Our mind and body relaxes in sleep during nights,
Darkness too has a beauty of its own,
Giving a lot of phenomena a chance to display it's charms.

Do not fear darkness,
Embrace it's strength buried deep within it's deceptive appearance.
