The Box

A box under the bed holds my whole life
Letters from my first love who later became my wife
The shoes from my daughter’s first steps
To the flower she held as I walked her down the aisle
I’ll always be your baby she said with a smile
The watch my dad wore as he slipped away
I stood by his side the watch stop ticking that day
The promise ring I gave my darling before we wed
I’ll never forget the tears or the words she said
A photo of my mother in her younger years
Looking at that photo brings me to tears
Cancer took her smile grace and hair
I lost it when I lost her it just wasn’t fair
So a box under the bed means a lot to me
Containing my whole life and what use to be

Too Beautiful For Earth

I carried you within my womb and felt your little kicks
I was one happy momma I was high on my babies fix
But something went wrong and I lost one of you.
Tell me what happened...What did I do?
They tried to save the other one and she was holding on.
But laying in the womb beside her...brother was gone.
Twins what a blessing I carried with me,
For five months... I was showing I was glowing you see.
I had my babies but no cry came as they lay still after birth,
perfect in every way too beautiful for earth.
Someone hear my cry and help me understand
Why the me I use to be now lays in the sand.
Satin lines a purple box in it memories of you are sealed
Why my babies? Someone please feel what i feel.
Pink and blue what a wonderful combination
Now I lay you to rest with pink and blue carnations
Too beautiful for earth is what they say
I’d give anything to have my babies back today
My little angels have gained their wings now they fly
When I’m feeling lonely I look to the sky
I cannot see you but I feel you still
I had my babies the experience was real
Too beautiful for earth yeah that may be true
But mommy would give anything just to hold you
And feel your heart beating next to mine
If only for a moment...for the first time
An angel wrote your names in the book of life after your birth.
Closed it and whispered. "Much to Beautiful for Earth."
RIP Ti’Yanna and Ryan 03/28/15

What We Didn'T Know

I know you held me the day I was born and thought how beautiful and she’s all mine
You swore to protect me with your own life and watch me grow with time.
What we didn’t know was that you would be snatched away like a leaf blowing in the wind.
What we didn’t know was that we would never see you again
All things happen for a reason yes this we know.
But we still ask why sometimes because we can’t let go
When you love someone and their taken and you can’t say goodbye
All we have are memories and nothing left to do but cry
We cry because we are sad we cry because we are mad
We cry because everyone else has one but we lost our dad
Your birthday comes we place flowers on your grave
Father’s day follow and we place flowers on your grave
The same routine just a different day or year
But we rather have you daddy standing right here
No matter how much I need you now, Heaven needed you more.
Heaven was needing a hero someone so brave and so true
Heaven needed a hero...God wasted no time choosing you.

Graveside

I know you walked up the stairway to heaven that day.
The clouds parted angels greeted and showed you the way.
With the rain pouring down like teardrops to the ground.
We didn't doubt for a second God wasnt around.
He called your name and you heard him clear
"come home my child do not fear."
Take my hand and walk with me,your heavenly home is now complete.
I am ready to fulfill all i have promised to you, and that is just what i intend to do.
So you reached out your hand gave it to God and said i am not ready this is very hard.
I have things i have yet to do or see, i want get to be the father i really want to be.
Just give me a couple more years let me laugh a little and shed more tears.
But the final decision was made, we cry sometimes standing at your grave.
We all know you went to heaven that day.
Eyes filled with tears and our heads bowed to pray.

My Son

My son the years will come as they will go
I want to tell you something I thought you should know
The day you were born 10lbs 0oz and I heard your first cry
Before I even laid my eyes on you I knew I would lay down my life and die
The moment you looked up at me as to say you needed me and you loved me equally if not more
At that moment I was absolutely sure that God had blessed me at sixteen no matter how young.
Because he felt I was worthy of you...My Son
You know what my heart sounds like from the inside as well as out, and
Your heartbeat matches mine without a doubt
You are the blood of my blood, flesh of flesh; we are one in the same.
If I ever had a doubt I’m glad you came.
Watching you grow and learn is an absolute delight you see
Because I’m your mommy God chose me.
To raise you and teach you right from wrong.
Khristian Isaiah you are my brand new song.
But no matter where you go and how old you get... We aren’t done
Because I’ll always be mom and you’ll always be... My Son

A Second Chance

A second chance is what he's giving me
now I can be the mommy I wanted to be
your growing inside me and I know your there
your presence is amazing I feel flutters everywhere
I embrace my belly I'm keeping you safe
I watch what I'm doing I take it easy I walk by faith
I wonder what will you be?
through what color eyes will you see?
curly hair or straight? Look like daddy or look like me?
Your first day of school will you cry?
Will you be a big kid or will you be shy?
This time is gonna be different I'm gonna take my time
Because second chances dont come often your all mine.

The One

When the time is right trust me you will know
You will see nobody else and you want ever let go.
When things are going crazy just simply speak his name
And everything is fine even better never the same.
One touch from you sends chills down my spine
My heart skips several beats but I’m still just fine
I knew it from the day I first laid my eyes on you
That I want to say those famous words…I Do.
I look at you in awe and I get the same in return
You lit a fire deep within my soul and I just let it burn
The one I can’t live without, can’t breathe without,
The one I never want to lose without a doubt.
So hear me when I say that you are the one for me
So let’s make the best of this life… LOVE is the key.
You are THE ONE

Not One Day

There’s not one day that I don’t think of you
How would you look? What would you say, and what would you do
I think of what could have been, what would have been, and most of all what should have been
We were just kids and you were takin so soon back then
Speaking of you in past tense rips me apart
But you being spoken of quiet often warms my heart
People say we look like you, walk like you, and even talk like you
Looking at your pictures I would even say we do
No child should have to grow up without their dad
But we did and we were well takin care of but it’s still sad
We visit your grave, we just stand and stare
Tears fill our eyes because we know you aren’t there
This is one reality no one wants to face
Because no matter how we try no one fills that empty place
We can’t physically talk with you, walk with you hug and kiss on you
God is so mysterious I must say he knew the minute the hour and the day
Of that fatal moment that took you away
I must confess they took a piece of us all and laid it to rest
There’s not one day that I don’t think of you
So until we meet again that’s really all I can do

Cry

Cry that’s all I can do cry because I want him and love you
Cry because in his arms is where I want to be
Cry because I lay down and it’s him that I see
Cry because I lay in his arms and my worries go away
Cry because I really want to marry him some day
Cry so hard I feel my head will explode
Cry because I’m carrying a heavy load
Cry because I’m torn in to I really want and love him but don’t want to hurt you
Cry because here I stay cry because I want to be with him everyday
Cry its becoming a song cry because I don’t want to do you wrong
Cry because I put myself here in this situation
Cry because I don’t want any retaliation
Cry because I have made up my mind
Smile because I choose him this time.

Loving You

Loving you has been the highlight of my life
We talk about loving forever and making me your wife.
You smile and the butterflies inside go crazy
I look at you in awe I’m so blessed to call you baby.
I wouldn’t change our love for the world its true
You build your trust around me and mine is built around you.
We’ve been at this thing for 7 years + and I still wanna love you longer
We fuss, we fight, and we make up that’s what makes our love stronger.
I feel so safe in your arms while you give my forehead a gentle kiss
God I’m so in love a beat with you I never wanna miss.
I lay my head upon your chest yes it belongs there
While your heart plays me sweet music I’m going anywhere.
As I close my eyes and drift away
I sleep peacefully knowing I’ll see you the next day.
Still Loving You.
