Life Cycle

Come,
Let us chase the sun.

I know
It is better said than done,
To make life sappy and meaningful-
To keep time, word and money
Is vital.

The steady sun
With the broad smile all
In summer, winter
Bright and duty bound it is
Amid clouds
Black or blue
May be spring or fall.
See the flowers that bloom
The petals that unfold
The pollens that vitalise
The dew drops in morning do glisten
In time the animals so breed
On the dot does the cock too alarm.
To be a salmon I yearn
Leaving some heirs to glow the age
To give up life
In the scheduled place of origin.
As
Points all are as equal
To begin and complete a circle.

No Farewell

No farewell
Crossing boundaries all
On and off the ground
Testimony of breaking records
 In domains many as well
For whom responsibility
And not simply duty was but God
Scaling heights many
Turning living legend
Master though with dream and
Later achievements massive.
Born with a promise to run
And lead others to run after-
Friends or foes.
Soft and cool
Tender but bold
With passive resistance
Sans complain and no pride
Crowned but with no crown
In hearts all adorned
For years long and ages to come
With humility all
Confidence and pride of nationals all
And respect commanding from opponents too,
Saying good bye to self,
The first ever love
Who I think had considered
“Sarbadharman parityajya”
To achieve Nirvana
And turning God
By complete merger in
Cricket-God’s call
“mamekam saranam braja.”

Lightning

Blinding glare all over
In azure wolf’s pretension
Dreaming pristine globe.

The Repatriation

Seeing through showering mist-
Golden clouds sucking nectar
And slowly gliding away
Placing a kiss of confidence and poise
On the glossy cheeks of mountain dear
Before repatriation
Of the sun
With a wish
To see the offspring the next year.
All vegetation in apprehension
Of many season’s separation
Have withering begun,
Shedding frozen tears
From multitude leaf-eyes
Before the final adieu.
Birds from the distance horizon
Assembled to greet
In multitude hue and sound
At the return journey to north
Amidst tormenting bawl.
The sun at end of south journey
Leaves stealthily
Covered in the veil of multitude cloud.

Winter Returns

A gust of shower
On the way to Bhubaneswar
In the midst of spring
And a window seat
After lots of request
To witness soothing views
Alas! Shockingly a broken window.

After rain
The shimmering fool moon
Like a steady but curious seer
Shower blessings on dhak flowers
To give them a look brighter and deeper.
Shivering were the leaves outside
And the lips and body of mine too
Amidst wind so chill
Blanketing the earth to still
Lulled me amidst silent dales and hills
Flowers and twigs
Rivers and streams, clouds and mist
Earth and heaven.
The raindrops on leaves
To be dew drops pretend
Carrying miniature suns in each
Steadfast like quiescence sages contemplating
Changes many as if they bring
The prediction of scorching summer
In silent echoes are spreading rumours.
To the shock of my matured pretention
Language learning kid of mine states in quest
‘The winter returns’.

When You Arrive

When you arrive
With a soothing wavy clinch
Of fair autumn blooms
Or velvety pat of marigold
In the early winter dawn
Clad in diamond studded grassland
To meet after the sagacity
Of grass widow
An avalanche in me melts,
Blanketing the hurricane-
Nay, the volcano,
In heart and soul
In the firm flight of falcon
To talon the prey
Or love with equal dexterity and ease.
The clouds in bottle tussle
To kiss the earth struggle
The earth with the heaven mingles
Dissolving the hilltop swindles.
In your approach
The stars in elation smile
With their eyes in glee twinkle
Gliding in ease, the moon awakes
From the blanketing clouds to grin
The uprooted tree with twigs anew
Days of light it counts though few.

Monologue of a Worthy Son - 2

The family and all fraternity
At the bottom of heart, all Love carry
In blood cells, every fear they bury
I’ve lived in wishes of all fellowmen
In whose wishes my cradle was nursed.
From the blooms of wreath at the end
I sense the laurel of the motherland
The aroma of soil I’ve felt
The pangs of plants I sense,
In his nourishment of the plants, the planter,
The cattle he drives which he rears
To keep all safe and unharmed
Catering the beehives all around
In all pollens of the farm
I feel the music of his
Mingling with the hum of bees
The ecstasy in each pore
For a cool but sunny morn tomorrow.
I owe my strength to the charm of fruits
The blessings of milk, lassi and curd-rice
In summer the tender coconut juice.
I wish to be buried not but burnt
In my hometown that gave me strength
Its cool breeze and soothing stream.
My ashes to be flown not in the Ganga
But be smeared in all village farms
So that I can get a chance
To pay back some debt of motherland.

Monologue of a Worthy Son -1

‘I’m 19 Madras’
My unit and fellowmen
More than anything for me
On earth,
My words – the oath ultimate
Until the last drop of blood enters my heart.
Out of the cruelest of storm
Or savagely violent, brutal
And sadistic blitz of snowslide
A safe miniature world I make
To cherish the motto
‘Duty unto Death’.
My teammates I armour
In the snowbound cover
 Of enasthasizing cold,
In the glaciated chasm
Of flash-freeze endless valley,
As a sign of reverence to mother,
And on her lap,
the warmth of my mother’s bosom I feel.
Thus in my hymn of life
‘If I’m strong and tough
My battalion is strong and tough.’

Nay Adieu

Always be a blossom with fragrance-hue
Shaking thee in half a quake, from tip to toe,
Thy will be touched by a drop of soft dew
For continuity of nexus is our vow.

The blue-moon time that opens thine petal-lips-fresh
Can freeze the ocean; make the rock melt in joy-
Only a pace in Odyssey, an ingress
A perfect quintessence of life coy.

What is that inopportune that begins to shine?
Drops of silent tears running on morale cheeks.
Do evoke in the special time for grace-divine
As sun will rise after every doom night, so have frisk.

Peace and comity in gale we are to find
Kites always fly not with but against the wind.

Creator

Come,
See me, the way you like,
Touch or slit
Pinch or rip
To provide you relief.

Pull my heart
Out of my family
To lean to thee
Or feed in me the poison
To vomit riches.

For you, I’m a puppet
To quench your craving,
A wet fantasy of sigh,
Or a pair of firm beguiling thighs
Or a fertile piece of land to yield a lad.

I bear all that you wreak
For, I’m and I’ll remain
Mother, the creator of men.
