Jacquelyn Sturge Poem
There once was a guy whose name was Lance
And all this man loved to do was dance,
If you beat on a drum
Or just twiddle your thumb,
Lance would jump up and he'd start to prance.
He danced from morning into the night
He'd leap in air like a bird in flight,
He never got tired
And always was fired,,
Until one day when he lost his sight.
Have you ever seen a blind man dance?
Well it was a sight, that cane and Lance,
He didn't want pity
Though it wasn't pretty,
When he toppled loosing his balance.
He'd jump right up and continue on
And nothing could stop this dancing prawn,
He taught us a lesson
That there is no reason,
To end what you love before you're gone.

Jacquelyn Sturge Poem
national bird of
Trinidad and Tobago
Caribbean Isle
the scarlet ibis
it is a tropical bird
bright red in color
it has a long neck
and it's bill is long and curved
feathers are black tipped
feet are slightly webbed
it's legs are long and skinny
with a wide wing span
beak is used to probe
in mud and shallow water
where it looks for food
you should see it fly
with its long neck extended
as if it's gliding
it's a good fighter
fights with beak legs and it's wings
protects its offspring
scarlet ibis is
one of the most beautiful
of bird family
they're gregarious
rest in colonies in trees
they travel in flocks
united they are
we can learn a thing or two
from these awesome birds.

Jacquelyn Sturge Poem
What do you do if you can't find a job
and all your monthly bills keep piling up?
Collectors are as vicious as the mob,
You wonder when all these problems will stop.
You changed your lifestyle hoping for the best
and started your life over with clean slate,
Then you are faced daily with many test
some of them you wish would disintegrate.
When what you need is not just a handout,
('Cause people do get tired of a leech,)
but a blessing to turn your life about
and you will see nothing's beyond your reach.
It's time for you to use the things you've got
and trust the Lord to help you find your lot.

Jacquelyn Sturge Poem
There once was a teacher from Trenton
who tried, but he couldn't keep his belt on,
His pants they would fall
on his knees he would crawl,
And the children, they all paid attention.

Jacquelyn Sturge Poem
I read a rhyme and I was so vexed
I feel that Old Mother Goose was hexed,
Didn't condemn this thief
And this brought me grief,
But he got beat up by Old Man Tex.
Tom the Piper's son stole pig and ran
This little boy acts like a big man,
Protective services
Moves him from premises,
Now the Piper smokes all that he can.
He sent his son Tom to go and steal
I wouldn't mind if 'twas for a meal,
But we all knew that it
Was to support his habit,
I think he should be locked up for real.

Jacquelyn Sturge Poem
Farewell
to this old year
and welcome to the new
Two thousand seven is leaving
us soon.
Happy
New Year to all
do experience Joy
and Happiness all the year to
the end.
I wish
that you all have
Prosperity and Health
and that your Loved Ones would return
from war.
In this
two thousand eight
I'll ask God to open
the eyes of those who are blinded
by hate.
Let Love
prevail on earth
and let us be ready
to live everyday as if it's
our last!

Jacquelyn Sturge Poem
They have poor Little Boy Blue tending sheep
That's why he got tired and fell asleep,
Other kids on the court
Shooting hoops playing sport,
He's scared of his dad and won't say a peep.
Well the cows went and eat up all the corn
And they want poor Boy Blue to blow his horn,
Why 'twas not a drum set
Or guitar, better yet,
The cows and the sheep to him would be drawn.
Didn't his parents know the Child Labor Laws
Or somebody forgot to read that clause
Protective Services
Should be called into this,
They should hire workers to meet that cause.

Jacquelyn Sturge Poem
Women over fifty
need to have a mammogram yearly,
It is an important test
that involves squeezing a woman's breast.
It is for cancer screening
but leaves some women really screaming,
Place your breast on machine which
clamps down on it like a fish sandwich.
Then it's tender to the touch
not many women like this too much,
I do believe it's a man
who invented this type of torture plan.
Why don't they screen men this way
put their member on this thing I say,
Then prostate cancer will flee
I'm just laughing at this imagery!

Jacquelyn Sturge Poem
A polite little chick from Belize
Always ran outside to fart with ease,
And when I asked her why
She bowed her head so shy,
Said she loves when it floats with the breeze.

Jacquelyn Sturge Poem
I once knew a guy named Constantine
Who fell for a girl named Clementine,
And they started to date
But this was her sad fate,
Dumped her the week before Valentine.
Poor Clementine her heart was broken
She thought that he loved her for certain,
After Valentine's day
He called her to say,
I'm sorry, I was so mistaken.
Well Clementine took back her man
But he didn't know she had a plan,
He asked her to marry
She said she'd be happy,
At the Alter she left him and ran.
This is for you cheap fellas out there
Who break up with your women each year,
Please know what you're doing
We love to get even,
And then you would be living in fear.
