Platonic Lover-Boy

There are times in the silence of the night that my mind wonders there
There, in that place that was long ago
Where intertwined youthful bodies lay in a mess of immaturity and overdosed in-love
Wasted in pleasure and toxic lust

The candles flickered as our breathing hastened, fervent hands explored
You pulled me in, I bit your lip
I quivered, as you shivered
Exhilaration in our veins

And when the energy is spent
We're in an even bigger mess of immaturity and overdosed in-love
Wasted in pleasure toxic lust
My platonic, lover-boy

Meet Me Half-Way

Will you meet me half-way?
Half-way of here and there?
Will you meet me half-way?
Half-way between our first kiss and now our last embrace?
Will you meet me half-way?
Half-way between exploding laughter and great despair?
Will you meet me half-way?
Half-way of creating memories and now longing days?
Will you meet me half-way?
Half-way of I need to go, but I want to stay?
Will you meet me half-way?
Half-way between our sun-kissed love and this never ending gray?

To a Little Girl

I was that little girl who stumbled, step by step
Falling apart and coming undone
Like stitches on a ragged doll
So pretty, and malleable at the convenience of their choice
Daddy's lovable, tamable little girl
An abiding, model child in this world

And as my womanhood unfolded throughout my teenage years
I blossomed with insecurities and questions about what it meant to be a woman in this world
I lived the freedom I was offered within the barricades
I felt my heart pound against that injustice at the realization that I could be a threat to many more
Such an unsuitable girl for this world

Intelligent and stubborn, my wild heart hungered for a place at the cost of a man's scorn
A place where customs and traditions could not tether all my wishes
I would pave a brand new world within this this world

One look at who I was and who I became turned to stone all those who opposed the greatness of a woman in this day
I can give life
I can give love
I can be the fury in a demise

I am the beauty in a paradise
I am the warmth of a rising sun
I am the calm in a night sky
I am all of that and more

And I have left my mark in this world in "her"
I hold her gentle head close against my breast and she feeds so eagerly
She's taking in the life that I am giving
She is feeling the love that I am giving
And every time I look down at her she reminds me of what is and what more could be
My heart wells with unkempt emotion at the sight of her raven colored hair
Its lustrous hues of darkness
And when her hand is gripped around my finger no pain can render me worn
She represents my unfailing faith that she will be strong, respected, and independent
In my world, in her world, and in this world

In This Ocean Called Life

I am infinite
Infinitely pondering
Infinitely lost in wonder

The immensity of life's currents pulling me in
Losing myself in the torrential downpour of the waves

I cannot navigate through so much disarray
I'm swimming against the craze

I'm trembling as the waves pound against my face
I'm breathing in and slowly being swept away

Hotel

And we are in a hotel
with draped windows and a shut door
the walls cannot contain this growing void
as I watch you sit silently pending on your ploy

With sunken spirits and a heavy heart
I hear our mistakes play leading roles in this part

And we are in a hotel
with draped windows and a shut door
these walls cannot contain the undoing of us
as I watch you grab your bags as we are headed for a cusp

With steady breathing and a cluttered mind
I hear the tearing of two lives in this room

And we are in a hotel
with draped windows and a shut door
these walls cannot contain my hopeless wonder
as you walk away, breaking us asunder

I am in a hotel with draped windows and a shut door
these walls cannot contain the memories of those two lovers
as I lay my head to rest and my heart to ponder

Love and Cigarettes

Here is my second smoked cigarette
You are worth every single toxic inhale

The scent of you impregnates my skin
And suddenly my hair is wrapped up in your scent

I covet so fervently your enchantment
Entrance me, enhance me, I'll indulge
As I exhale you out

The smoke clouds my my mind
And forms vivid illusions of the best moments of my life

A Bit of Truth

Tell me a bit of truth. The kind of truth not selective by my choosing but a truth so honest marked by your sole and only knowing. Stranger, sweet endearing stranger the one I know so well yet don't know at all. Don't look at me so unknowingly when I know it's just for show. Hide but don't run, you ignorant selfish beggar. But I know exactly where and how to find you because I will tear you apart lie after lie. I will unmask the defiant you and I will delve so deeply and find your sweetness and use it as my fix. Because little do you know that you've picked the worst of victims. A victim succumbed with insasiatiable urgency to have your drug at my highest expense. So run, run, run stranger because I will find you, or you will come back to me. You unfailingly always do because you and can't have me as your nothing when all you want is my every something.

Mine Again

Sometimes my mind strays to flooding memories of us
Like collages on a tethered wall of moments that I recall
Moments of lovers in a trance where lustful desires met obeying hands
I cannot have you now, but I promise if then was now I'd make you mine again

Four Years Too Late

I think I owe you an apology
An apology that is perhaps four years too late

I'm stammering and fumbling
Mumbling the words I simply cannot say

In my pockets I carry to many IOUs
I've lost track of the times I beguiled you

The murmured whispers of me were true
You should have walked away before you knew

And now I am the battered and the bruised
Wishing I had never pulled away from you

So here is my apology four years too late
And not one year too soon

Pretty

Dear you I see in the mirror every morning
Your proportions are all wrong
Where did you go they ask
Where are you in that mirror

I cannot recognize the person standing there
So bare and bruised with words that have abused

They're eating you alive
But eating is your crime
Don't gain a pound
Don't make a sound

Skinny girl you're nowhere to found
