A Firefighters Final Goodbye

As I lie here on my bed tonight,
I thank the lord for his guiding light.
And letting me come home night after night,
When all those fires would go ablaze.
And for all those memories with my dear Kathy,
That I know she will carry for the rest of her days.

Goodbye Baby

I was the highlight of your life Mommy but just for a while.
Daddy promised me we’d play catch when I grew up a bit.
But then that day came, Mommy.
God came for me while I slept,
He said not to worry Mommy.
He said I was sick it was something that the doctors missed.
Please tell Daddy we’ll play catch when God comes for him too.
And Mommy I promise when you come we’ll bake our cookies,
The ones that Daddy loves so much.
Tell Grandma, Grandpa, and Auntie too that I miss them and I’ll always be with
you.
The angels said that I’ll grow up real quick up here,
But I told them No I’ll wait until the year when my Mommy and Daddy come to stay.
But we all still play.
Its fun up here Mommy.
But I know that down on Earth you are crying because God came to take me away.
But don’t worry Mommy God said that I was really sick.
I know you love me Mommy and I love you too.
But please Mommy don’t look so blue,
God said that instead of him, I can come and get you and Daddy.
But God said I must wait until the time is right and trust me that time is nowhere
in sight.
So please don’t look all upset Mommy, Daddy you too,
Just remember that I am always watching over you.
I must go now mommy the Angels are giving me my wings.
Then they told me I could come and watch over you and Daddy,
Forever if I want
