Written In the Stars

If loving you is wrong
I don't ever want to right.
If loving you is a sin
I outrightly reject righteousness.
If loving you is disobedience
I give in to mutiny.
If loving you is folly
I swear I detest Solomon.
If loving you is madness
I deny not my state of lunacy.
If loving you is an error
I want to keep this mistake.
If loving you is death
I am a living dead person.
But if loving you is life, means life
Believe me...
The state of my heart,
This outpour of my emotions,
The lovely looks in your eyes
And this ranging fire in our hearts
Was written in the stars... .

Dare

To laugh is to risk appearing a fool
To weep is to risk appearing sentimental
To reach for another is to risk involvement
To expose your feelings is to risk exposing your true self
To place your ideas your dreams before a crowd
Is to risk their loss
To love is to risk being loved in return
To believe is to risk despair
To try is to risk failure.

But risks must be taken, because the greatest hazard
Of life is to risk nothing.
The people who risk nothing,do nothing, have nothing, are nothing.
They may avoid sorrow and suffering
But they cannot learn, feel, change, grow, love and live.

The Cowherd

On dark hillside
A lone cowherd
Wrapped in his blanket,
Gazed up at the sky,
Dreamed into the night.
A wisp of crescent moon,
A sky full of stars,
In his thought
He was asking:
Does my small fire shine up to the stars?

Your Destiny

Your destiny is in your hand,
You're created for a purpose.
For you to be a man of mission,
You must be a person of vision.

A man of vision is a man of determination,
He'll never run away from life's challenges.
Although he might be a failure for a while,
But,at the end he'll surely overcome,
He'll surely cross over the obstacles of life.

A man born to be great must be ready
To fight life's battle
For him to become a CHAMPION!

Old Roger

Old Roger is dead and gone to his grave,
Hum,ha! gone to his grave.

They planted an apple tree over his head,
Hum,ha ! over his head.

The apples grew ripe and ready to drop,
Hum,ha ! ready to drop.

There came a high wind and blew them all off,
Hum,ha ! blew them all off.

There came an old woman to pick them all up,
Hum,ha ! pick them all up.

Old Roger got up and gave her a knock,
Hum,ha ! gave her a knock.

Which made the old woman go hipperty hop,
Hum,ha ! hipperty hop.

My Boss and I

When I take a long time,I am slow,
When my boss takes a long time he is thorough.
When I don't do it I'm lazy,
When my boss doesn't do it he's busy.
When I do something without being told I'm trying to be smart,
When my boss does the same, that is initiative.
When I please my boss I'm apple-polishing,
When my boss pleases his boss,he's co-operating.
When I do good,my boss never remembers,
When I do wrong, he never FORGETS!!

The Ugly Vulture

The ugly vulture flasps and hops,
Flies and scraps and walks and stops,
Pecks to a tree and looks around,
For rotten rubbish on the ground.

He likes dead things and he pecks them clean,
He's horribly ugly,dull and mean,
Hunchy shoulders,old bald head,
He'd like me better if I were dead!

But look at him in the high blue sky,
Round and round you see him fly,
Higher and higher he turns and swings,
Climbing the air with unmoving wings.

My Purple Hibiscus

She arrived the year I thought I broke free
From the seductive hold of art and all art-meets
I shunned the temptation
But she broke into my tube
Televising purpose and purple hibiscus
Her first fine flower of an early budding
In an enchanting voice and visage...
And something in me sought to pluck
At the comind of Half of a yellow sun
I trod from La Campaign Tropicana to Jazzhole
To keep a date with a daydream;
Sniffing into all the farflung path of her purple
Hibiscus
And there she was,the lady in my tube
I gazed longingly upon a stately sight with a well-
Laid out body structure
That mates so well with her sentence structure
There she was,the ancient child in a haste to change.

Waiting For the Rain

The sun shines hot on the roofs in the town;
The birds are quiet;the grass is brown.
Behind the cars the dust flies high,
The trees are grey;the stream is dry.
Tomorrow will be the same again,
     Or will it rain?

The ground is cold as we walk to school;
The road is mud and the hair is cool.
The trees and grass are growing green,
And all the world is washed and clean.
Tomorrow will be the same again-
     It is the rain.

The Moon

The moon has a face like the clock in the hall,
She shines on thieves in the garden wall,
On streets and fields and harbour quays,
And birds asleep in the forks of trees.

The squalling cat and the squeaking mouse,
The howling dog by the door of the house.
The bat that lies in bed at noon,
All love to be out by the light of the moon.

But all of the things that belong to the day
Cuddle to sleep to be out of her way,
And flowers and children close their eyes
Till up in the morning the sun shall arise.
