Freedom Struggle: India

What do you know,
About the rule of British?
It is not a rule
For Indian`s to cherish!

It started decades ago,
They began with trade
And then slowly,
They began to invade.

It started at the borders
That were close to the coasts
It was a rule,
About which Britain boasts.

What then became of the Indians
And their peaceful life?
The British turned it ,
Into more of a bitter strife.

The horrors of British rule
Steadily began to bloom.
Across our country far and wide
Began the days of gloom.

The Indians didn`t back out,
They fought for their rights.
Across the country could be seen
The start of horrendous fights.

Battles were in plenty,
Loss of lives were too.
Those who were caught were jailed
It was like a human zoo!

It didn`t stop the Indians
They wanted to be free.
They were a support to the country
Like strong roots to a tree.

Images of the horrors
Were seen at different posts.
What about innocent people?
The images haunted them like ghosts!

Few hundred years of struggle
Had come to an end.
It was decided that the British
Back to England they would send.

The country we live in today
Is thanks to those,
The brave freedom fighters
Who destroyed our woes.

The World Today

Why can`t it be like long long ago?
If we try we could save a bough.
An inspiration is all we need,
To do a good deed.

Why can`t we live together,
And stay like that forever?
Why do we steal ,
And think it is not a big deal?

Caste system! Why do we need it?
Can`t we be together for a bit?
It doesn`t matter- if you are a dame,
Nor, does your fame.

Lets discourage deforestation,
We must encourage afforestation.
Why to have a religion base fight?
Following a religion is everyone`s right!

Let us see, who is to be named?
As the ones to be blamed.
Well it is us- Man,
Is this what we plan?

The Way of Nature

Oh the trees,
See them cluster,
They give you shade,
That’s the way of nature.

They feed you,
At the right time,
They feed you with the right things,
That’s the way of nature.

The earth rotates,
Around the sun,
It causes day and night all long,
That’s the way of nature.

The stars and moon,
Pop out at night,
And there they glow,
With all the light,
That’s the way of nature.

The clouds in the sky,
That look like sheep,
They clash together,
And thunder seeps,
That’s the way of nature.

Oh! The animals,
See them play,
With all their might,
They go their way,
That’s the way of nature.

The blue ocean,
Spreads so far,
It has no end,
Like a war,
That’s the way of nature.

The mountains high,
Could touch the sky,
Of different size and colors,
That’s the way of nature.

The Flashback

I was about four,
Was sitting on the shore.
And it was around two,
That’s when I met you.

You were strolling down the beach,
In your hand you held a peach.
On your face you had a smile,
And you wore the latest style.

You turned to look at me,
And then you smiled with glee.
“I might get a friend” You said
And happily shook your head.

Towards me you made your way,
From the big beautiful bay.
“Hey there “ said I
And then you said “hi!”

`Bout ourselves we talked,
Through the beach we walked.
Quick friends we became
And then we played a game.

This was last December,
The time I always remember.
As I hold my guitar and strum,
Thinking about the days to come.

Water

I am calm yet raging
Gentle yet rough.
Through a path winding,
Flexible yet tough.

I move with the wind
Or maybe stand still.
To liquids I am twinned
Your needs I fulfill.

I shimmer and shine bright
As I reflect the sun`s grin.
You need me day and night
Without me life just wouldn’t begin.

Sometimes I am cold and blue
Or bound with a pinch of green.
I may be the morning dew.
Or the muddy puddles seen.

I am found in abundance
You find me all-around.
Each time a different appearance
In the sky and on the ground.

 But in the world today
I really need to be saved.
I am not to be wasted away.
Because when I am gone I`ll be craved.

Everyone knows that water is life
Think of life if I were to be gone
Before life turns into a bitter strife
Save the water that we depend upon.

Libraries

Libraries are said to be
Treasure house of books,
Books here, books there
On racks high and low.

Culture and heritage
Thoughts of writers and poets,
All in a room for those
In thirst of knowledge.

Newspapers and magazines
For the current news,
Books on history and
Present affairs.

No noise or overcrowding
Just the noise of flipping pages,
A peaceful work in libraries,
Result in increasing knowledge.

Show Your Courage

Hear the thunder rumbling above
Watch the lightning striking bright.
Don`t let your mind feel the fright
Show your courage, you`ll be alright.

Now that you`ve done it wrong
Just speak out what`s true
Don`t be afraid to feel the rue.
Show your courage, but just be you.

It’s all over and in the past
Now learn to forgive and forget
Don`t think of it as a haunting threat
Show your courage, as tough as it may get

Just feel the joy or the pain
Learn to open up your heart
Don’t let emotions break you apart
Show your courage, inner conflicts you outsmart.

Let it be in a war or on the field
Strive to lead them for the win
Don`t let fear raise from within
Show your courage, fight with a grin.

To get through your life
It is not a path all would take
Don`t forget it is your decision to make
Show your courage, through dusk and daybreak.

The Nightmare

One night ,
While crossing a little forest,
On the way home,
I felt I heard a grumble,
I felt the earth rumble.

Right after that,
When I took up courage,
And walked the way towards home,
I heard another grumble
And I felt the earth rumble.

This time I was struck with fright
And stood rooted at my place,
That’s when through the bushes ,
I saw a pair of glittering lamps.

Thinking it was a trick,
I continued to walk home,
And suddenly I confronted ,
The owner of the glittering lamps.

Can you guess it was a tiger,
Pushing its way towards me,
That’s when I felt my self shiver,
And closed my eyes in fright.

Soon I opend my eyes,
And looked around,
I thought it was a miracle
I found my self at home.

I soon realized,
That it wasn`t a miracle,
I was sleeping all along,
All I had seen was a nightmare.

My Poetic Dream

I was walking down the street
When I heard that catchy beat.
An imaginary guitar I strum
And then I began to hum.

I walked towards the beat
As I tap both my feet.
I formed few words in mind
And those together I combined.

I tried to make it rhyme
Even though it took some time.
I rewound the lines in my head
And continued to hum the beat as I read.

I skipped into me sweet home,
Which was pass the huge garden gnome.
Thinking about the lines, my way I lead
To write it down before I jumped into bed.

In the morning I sat to think,
But even before I could blink,
In could feel my pen gliding
Across the paper deciding,
The way to end my song.
That`s when I heard a gong.

Suddenly my eyes I opened wide.
I looked around and sleepily sighed.
All this had just been a night`s dream
But then my eyes brightened up and began to gleam.
I had finally got a new poem with a interesting theme!

Inspiration

I am sitting at my desk
Looking for a bright idea.
I look at the empty paper
Waiting for a poem for the galleria.

I waited for the right time
When I was in the mood to write.
But now I wait for inspiration
To let my imagination take a flight.

I mess my hair frustrated
As I rack my brain for inspiration.
I think back on the words of poets
Then I hit a realization.

Everyone has always said
Inspiration is all around.
What your surroundings offer
Will leave you astound.
