The Tinder Poem

We swiped left, then swiped right. Mostly out of curiosity or just to get through another boring night.

I swiped left, you swiped right. It can be that way or the other way around.

I swiped left and you also swiped left. Now we can never meet in person or maybe that’s just our fate.

I swiped right and you also swiped right. I guess we made the right decision, is my assumption precise?

Yeah! So maybe we met on Tinder, but someday I hope to put a ring on your finger.

Your Son

I have known you since the day I was formed.
I have loved you long before I was even born.
You conceived me for nine months and took care of me since then until now.
You fed me with your unconditional love, like the Father from the heaven's above.
You were there when I first opened my eyes, you were there when my first word came out of my mouth.
Oh how I loved it when you would hug me, especially when you kiss me.
Years passed and my time as a child has ended, and our bond had slowly drifted.
Is this happening because it is a cycle of life or just a wall being built between mother and child?
I have tried to break the wall between us, but each time a destroy one, another appears.
What is this that's trying to keep us apart?
What is this that's tearing us apart.
I have wondered what might be on the other side of this unending layer of walls.
How I wonder what is behind those thick layer of walls.
Years passed by and I'm still trying to break these walls.
I'm having thoughts of giving, but that won't stop me at all.
I have known you since the day I was formed,
but you said to me, "NO. You don't know me at all."
I am confused and bothered,
for if what you said was true, then I don't know what to believe anymore.
Is the Truth that I know the truth, or the truth that I know a lie?

This Life

"I don't deserve this life that I'm living for I have been unfaithful, inconsistent and unjust...
I don't have the right to live this life that I'm living, for I've hurt the people that cared for me the most...
I don't know why I have this life that I'm living, but I know that it's a Blessing from You...'

This Thing Called Depression : Part 1

Depression…
Let me ask you a question.
What would you feel if I tell you I have depression?
What would your reaction be if I tell you I have depression?
Will you be like every other person?
Who thinks that I am absurd, bizarre, psychotic, insane or someone who needs medication?
Such generalization! What a shame, what a nation!

Oh depression….
You have taken a lot from me.
My mind, my soul, my humanity!
You make me feel alone, deprived and degenerated,
Like a person who has insanity and always gets rejected.
You never fail to make me feel sadness,
Like I am inconsolable, discontented in life and can never achieve happiness.

Whenever I feel dejection, I feel broken-hearted.
And NO! I don’t have a lover, but YES! I have depression.
Now this is becoming like a confession,
These feelings I’m trying to suppress, these crazy feelings as big as the ocean,
Channeled into a rant made out of pure emotions!

Whenever I talk to you… Yes. YOU!
You make it sound so funny, like it’s a norm.
You must be so insensitive to think that there is nothing wrong.
Nothing wrong with how you treat people,
People who suffers every single day because of this form of evil.
You make me feel so little,
My heart’s so fragile and brittle,
You know the truth, yet you still giggle.
You’ve never had breakdowns like I did,
And wish every single time to be dead.
What do you want from me!? Do you want me to plead!?
Don’t make a fool out of me, because I’m not that stupid.
No matter what you do or say, I won’t surrender until I bleed.

Poetry

Poetry that rhymes with Pastry.
Both that gives me the thrill of ecstasy,
and leads me somehow to talking too much profanity.
Oh how I long for clarity,
for I have been too close to insanity
almost losing my humanity...

A Free Spirit

I wish to be a free spirit, but I am bound by the shackles of fate.
I want to break free, but I am constrained by my responsibility and this damned reality.
Freedom was stolen from me.
I was robbed by these so called expectations and society.
Can you feel the pressure, the stress and the strain?
Up to a certain degree that even I can't explain!
You and me and everyone else
were born to be free, not to be like someone else.

Epsilonian Pledge

“From the day I join to the day I die, You will always be my sense of pride.
My beloved Fraternity, I offer you my life.
For in you I found a family that will never leave my side.
A brotherhood like no other,
A brotherhood for life.
A brother I will always trust.
A brother who will always be just,
A brother who will have my back.
Brothers right or wrong, only death can break us apart.
Never doubt an Epsilonian’s heart,
For we fear nothing, but God.”

Lady

This lady, who is she that got my heart pounding.
One look and then you got me falling.
Falling head over heels, this girl is something.
Mesmerized when I see you smiling.
Traumatized when I see you crying.

Cliche as it may sound, but I think that we are entwined.
Bounded by fate together, forever, eternally intertwined.
Our red strings laced.
Can never be and will never be untied.
You and me against all odds and never divided.

With all the things I just said that sounded so cheesy.
I don't want to sound fast and cheeky.
But baby, I think you're the girl I want to marry.
I want to travel with you and create a family.
That fears God above all and has love for our Country.
I love you so much and baby our life together won't be easy.
It'll be full of ups and downs, but it's worth the try.
I'm not good with promises but for you I'll do my best and be yours faithfully.
Do my best to uphold chivalry and
be with you today, tomorrow and till the day I die.
