Marilyn Davidson Poem
There was a little church one day that Satan decided to haunt.
He went there and snarled and roared to all he wanted to taunt.
So everyone left running, almost knocking each other down.
No one wanted to go back in except one woman in town.
She just stayed there in her seat and hardly paid any mind.
Just kept reading God’s word and her demeanor looked so kind.
The devil asked her why she wasn’t afraid and why she didn’t run.
So she answered him quite calmly, “Now haven’t you met the Son?
His name is Jesus Christ and He is always here with me.
So, I have no fear in fact the fear should be in thee.
For He has concurred you and all of your buddies too.
I will go now and tell the others how they need not fear you.
And they will talk to Jesus and it will come to them all,
That Jesus will always save them and protect them from a fall.
All we need do is ignore you and on Jesus name we call.
We read His word and we know, you are really no threat at all.
But when she turned to look at him he had left the site.
That was no surprise to her for she knew this was only right.
For when we mention the name of GOD it scares all evil away.
This has always been a fact and even still to this day.
The moral of this story is this, when your trials come along,
Call out to the Lord of lords and you won’t ever go wrong.
He will love you always and will always steer you right.
If you will just cling close to Him he’ll be your strength and light.

NOISE AND PEACE
I listen to the noise outside
there is another helicopter flying overhead
It causes a fear in me, don't mean to be negative
But it's announcement is what I dread!
Remembering the promise I made to myself I say,
That this is only one reasons I take time to pray.
I pray for salvation and justice though I don't know what's going on.
Nearer to the end this is, and the beginning of a new song.
I know it's closer to my Lord's day
For Him to come back for us,
The worse that times are here on earth
So I say come Lord Jesus!
This is where the good is bad
And all the bad is good
Though this sounds a bit crazy
It is all to be just like it should!
So I look up at the sky and though I do know why.
Then I turn to my Lord and as I pray I cry.
It is not to remain inside with a bitter taste
And my sadness doesn't turn to waste.
Because it goes up into my Lord's heart
As He returns a healing to mine
It surpasses my understanding
No matter how I whine.
That peace still comes because I ask
And I give it up to HIM
So if it returns to me I give it up again.
While this world causes all the noise in my mind,
My Lord takes it upon my asking because He is so kind.
He replaces it with His peace
Not as the world offers but what He gives.
So I am at peace once again
And inside my life He lives.

It Takes Grace
Sometimes I might be too distracting and even get annoying
Maybe I joke when you're serious and I am only toying
Then I talk too much at times when you are tired of me
I am loving your presence and just want you to love me
There I go and complain again about the same old things
And tell the same old stories that in your head it rings
You probably wish you could say, “Stop it, leave me alone”
When I call, you think about just not answering your phone
Now I see how I can change when before I had no clue
I just need some godly grace flowing from Jesus through you
I know I don't deserve it as none of us really do
Anyway I try to give God's grace as He wants us to
And still I need like anyone to not be pushed aside
I try to be a good friend and put that pride aside
I am a work in progress as all Christians are I know
Will you forgive me and God's grace on me bestow?
I am learning to be more pleasant and more positive
God works on my heart and soul each day that I live
I even pray for the will it takes to be better every day
And have friends that will be happy just to love me I pray
