Janet Anderegg Poem
China
Iron fisted
Silent eyes suffering
Underneath bloodied golden stars
Beijing
Communist terror reigns supreme
Wan Yanhai vanishes
AIDS exploding
Deathtoll

Janet Anderegg Poem
Fireman
Charred uniform
Savior of innocents
Weeping mothers kissing children
Hero

Janet Anderegg Poem
Fighter
Insurgent man
Detonator in hand
Stone eyes watch the troops approaching
Killer
Awaits the optimum moment
Shouts "Death to Infidels"
Soldiers survive
Coward

still water beckons
drink deep of my reflection
danger lurks elsewhere

besprizorniki
roaming the streets of Russia
no mamas to love
bereft of humanity
a million beating hearts sigh

Janet Anderegg Poem
You gave gifts of sour grapes, crushing spirit underfoot.
Transforming bitterness to fine sweet wine, I bade you dine with me,
Yet, I feast alone, at the banqueting table tonight.

Janet Anderegg Poem
Amish families weep as they bury their
Murdered daughters; those poor
Innocent little girls torn from their lives and
Sacrificed on an altar of self-pity by a suicidal man.
Heavy hearted we watch these quiet people who
Take nothing from us and ask for less,
Readily forgive without question the man responsible.
Asking not for vengeance or justice, but also
Going to his wife and children in peace;
Embracing them in the love of God and
Demonstrating the true meaning of forgiveness.
Yes, I believe they shame us.

Janet Anderegg Poem
Shelter here sweet child of fragile soul.
Take refuge from those raging
Rapids of life, threatening to
Overpower and drown you in misery.
Navigate your way past the taunting
Ghosts of past regrets and
Turn to Me once more.
Open the swollen eyes of your sorrow
Weary one and come hither.
Embrace My forgiveness and fear not;
Run to Me and I will welcome you home.

Janet Anderegg Poem
Summer storm bears down
Darkness crowds the sky tonight
Bringing destruction
~
Weeping, I search for our love
Hidden deep within your rage
