Son What Can I Do

Son What Can I DO by Laura Delacroix
As I sit here all alone,
Drifting,drifting in another zone
I feel your heartache over here
please take a hard look in the mirror
What is it child that you see
I know you just want to be free
Free from the pain that has brought you here
believing in your heart no one is near
But just know that is not true
We all see that you are feeling blue
You think that there is no one you can trust
But helping yourself is a must
I cant make it all go away
I have to leave I cannot stay
Day after day I watch you suffer
I have got to stop rescuing you so you can be tougher
They say that I am an enabler
but to me I want to help you get stabler
I tried so hard but deep down inside
I look at you and feel the pride
To have a child as special as you
please help me God I know not what to do
You see son I am suffering just like you
The love I feel in my heart is oh so true
They say I have to walk away
I have to go I cannot stay
I put my life on hold praying that I could fix you
There is just nothing left for me to do
Its all up to you now
I believe I have shown you how
I have done my best-all that I can
to guide you along to be a strong man
I have done my part thats all I can say
The balls in your court its time to get up and play
Spread your wings so you can fly
reach up reach out into the sky
Remember son I believe in you
I wish there was more I could do
But the answer is yours it is not mine
I can just pray to GOD that you will be FINE!!!!

My Child My Child

My Child My Child by Laura Delacroix
As I stand under the large Willow Tree
with outstretched arms in case you need me
Wasn't it yesterday when you were so small
Now you stand up so tall
I see you stand there with your head hung low
Just waiting for the next hurting blow
How can I explain the pain wont last
you need to look up and forget the past
I sit and watch the pain on your face
wishing I could just take your place
When I see that you are in despair
and that you really don't even care
I remember you up in that tree
peeking through so you can see me
It seems as though clouds block your view
you think that nobody cares or loves you
But my child you see I have loved you since before you were born
but I truly can see how you are torn
But listen to me child this is only a part
You have your whole life ahead
this is just a small start
If you believe in yourself half as much as I believe in you
you could see through the clouds there is so much left to do
What is it child you are hiding from
Reach Out Reach Out and grasp for the sun
The world awaits for you to explore
all you need to do is open that door
Now climb down child into my open arms
I cannot shield you from the worlds harm
What I can offer is to cradle you like when you were small
Let God raise you up so you can stand tall
I cherish the times I see you smile
I haven't seen that in awhile
They say you have to accept the things you cannot change
i just have no idea how to re-arrange
the way my heart hurts while when you are in pain
I know your potential and what you have to gain
So please my child raise your head high
uplift your arms up to the sky
Please tell your mom you will be ok
that you can see the light of a brand new day
Just close your eyes and see me
standing there under the big willow tree
Ready to catch you if you may fall
praying to God you can just stand tall
Just face your fears that's all you can do
and remember I will always love you
I might not be the mom of the year
but know my child I will always be here
Now come my child pull yourself out of those clouds
when you do we will all be so proud
Happy is what we want you to be
as you are up there in that big Willow tree
look down look down and your loved ones you will see......

The Cushion and the Chair-A Letter To God

The Cushion and the Chair-A letter to God By Laura Bonneville Delacroix
What is it God that you see in me
What is it God that you want me to be
Why is it God that you believe in me
Sometimes the heartache is so great I just want to feel free
The anguish and sorrow that consume my soul
I keep praying to you to fix it all
I wear my heart upon my sleeve
The hurt so abundant I look to you to magically relieve
Why do those I love hurt so bad
this is what makes me feel so sad
So I look up to you and I yell I AM MAD
Mad at you for not fixing it all
Mad at myself that I cannot be brave and stand tall
I look up to you and ask "what is it you wanted"
while those around me continue to be haunted
Foolishly I blamed it all on you
Knowing with your great power you could fix it all too
Please Lord tell me
Tell me what to do
I am putting all my faith in you
You are the Father, the Son, the Holy Ghost
You are the one I look to the most
I look to you to heal my heart
I thought if you didnt I would fall apart
I searched real hard to find myself
and there I sat high upon a shelf
I hide up here so no one can see
I hide inside myself waiting for God to fix me
And then it comes
It was always there
I look down and I see a chair
A chair so strong,so mighty and tall
A chair so strong to be used by all
"Just remember" God says "even I need help
so reach out your foot and take that first step
Reach down my child Reach really in depth
Not you or I can make everything better
sometimes we can just offer them a simple warm sweater
A temporary fix to those who might be cold
Now it is time for them to be bold
"You see my child I am your chair
to help maybe others to reach you up there
So my child just understand
sometimes we all need a helping hand
You are just one person
you cant take away their pain
Just be the cushion upon the chair
Let them know you and I will always be there
To give them love and comfort to ease their pain
Let those around us that hurt know we will always remain
I am the Cushion and God is the Chair
To help our loved ones from their despair....

Forgotten

My lips are dry
 My hands are cold
My dreams are trying to get out
but my skin is screaming to be bold
I have a dream that has come to an end
forever just a whisper upon your sweet skin
Dead am I to what I wanted to be
slowly slipping into misery
I cannot breath my breath excruciating
not at all the life I was anticipating..
How did this happen with one cruel word
you sat and listened but I was never heard
I wanted to be so much and often just longed for your forgiving touch
How did this happen
when did I die
I feel my whole life has been a lie
It is me that I miss
 not your smooth courageous kiss
it is me that is gone not you that has left
My hopes and dreams died you see
It was not what I wanted it to be....
I was dreaming a dream of being a dancer
My Life Ended the day they said you have Cancer....

Last Roll Call In Memory of Sgt Greg Moore

In Memory of Sgt. Greg Moore: "Last Roll Call"
By Laura Bonneville Delacroix
I wanted you to help me climb the tree
I wanted you to be proud when you looked at me
I don't know what happened
Or where you did go
Please oh Please Momma say it ain't so
What do you mean I don't know what you are saying…
It was just today he held me while playing
The pain in your eyes I am not too young to see
What do you mean when you look at me?
My daddy will be here before I go to sleep
I know he will, you see our love is so deep
But what are you saying
I do not understand
You keep say to me Daddy's in the Promised Land
I don't understand but I know it is wrong
All I hear is daddy singing our song
These people are crying and saying such things
I am sorry, my condolences, what can I bring
Why are they all here, what does this all mean?
When I get older Moms says I will understand
She holds me and hugs me even when she can barely stand
Why are you all here?
My Dad truly must be near
I look to the sky and I see the Great Man
I am not too young to know who he is
He looks down on me and with a strong gentle hand
He says Son I need to borrow your dad as I need a great man
One with honor and pride, courageous and tall
I know one day you will understand it all
Your Dad is a Hero that is for sure
Now nestle in your Moms arms and keep her near
I sent your Dad down to be a good example
He has done a great job it was just his time
He will be honored by me and cherished by all
This is the End of the Watch and his Last Roll Call
