New Love

Those moments when the heart remembers what it's like to fall in love, and wants to revisit that feeling... The feeling of seemingly forever falling from a great height, the butterflies in the stomach, the nervousness, the sweaty palms, the rapid heartbeats... the fear of taking the wrong step and ruining everything. Then there's the first kiss.... the soul-shocking explosion of heart and mind as they get blown away by that other person. The clingyness, the fear of driving that person away with said clingyness, the fear of losing said person to someone (or something) else, producing more clingyness... But the heart remembers it all so well, it feels the fears, but knowingly takes that leap over and over again, no matter how many times it's broken.
Now that you have a glimpse of how it feels, what do you do?

Crystal Tears of the Heart

The supreme love felt for that beautiful soul is enough to break your heart, yet it fills it up to overflowing... returned or not. Unrequited love binds the heart and blinds the eye so that you feel like you didn't just swallow the hook, but you crapped the sinker. There's no turning back when it happens, not that you want to. You just wanna keep it forever as it is, but wonder how it would feel if she returned the love that's pouring out of your bleeding heart. Don't let go, it's a bittersweet torture that you wouldn't trade for the world. When she's dug herself under your skin so deep that she feels like the sweetest cactus spine that's ever pierced you, you know you've got it bad. Freedom is not the desire you possess... it's the feel of her lovely lips pressed on yours, her heart beating in a wild tandem with your own, as if they were one and the same. It's when all you want is to hold her in your arms for all eternity, but she's just out of reach. Even on her worst day, you see her as the brightest star in the sky. That star, even when she's so far out of reach, all you wanna do is touch her the way you do in your fantasies. This is the real meaning of unrequited love. Undeniable. Irrefutable. Passionate. Bittersweet torture.

Fist Kiss

Nobody knows the pain of lost love better than I, and that is what this is about. Don't fight me on this, it's a losing battle. I love whom I love, and true love never "goes away", no matter how many bridges and cliffs you dump it off of. It will simply yo-yo right back up to you, sometimes smacking you right in the face, other times throwing you off balance, right off the object you tried to throw it off of. One never truly knows what to expect from love. If you try to guess, that love might just give you a love tap in the teeth that feels like a knuckle sandwich. I know this, I'm going through it now. I just gave up hope of ever being able to bluntly express my feelings for him, just so he can be happy. His happiness means the world to me, so giving him up was the only way to be happy myself. I just hope he never forgets me.
Closure is a double edged sword that isn't afraid to bite, and when it does, sometimes you regret ever touching it. I can't regret, I never forgot, nor can I truly let him go. Not right now, while the pain is fresh. Nope, I'll just hold onto Closure, biting edges and all. Maybe someday I might let that love go, when we are merely best friends, but it won't happen then either, cuz nothing can tear me away from love. I'm a love addict. I'm not afraid to admit it. I'm addicted to feeling that emotional high where nothing but love and my lover can touch me. I'm addicted to feeling the lips of love on mine, gliding ever so gently, yet yanking my heart away as if it never belonged to me at all. I'm addicted to that first flight of a new love, most of all... but remember, a new love can be an old love, rekindled.

Despair

Worried about his heart,
worried about his soul.
Worried about the outcome,
worried about his goal.
Why should I worry,
when I could scold?

I shouldn't care.
I shouldn't bother.
But then I'd miss out
on one special father.

He's someone's lover,
he's someone's son,
he's someone's brother,
he's someone's big gun.

He's a ray of sun
where there should be rain,
he's the angel
with unspeakable pain.

Love is all he has left,
no more, no less.
He falls short
when he only tries his best.

Even when he fills the hole,
he feels empty.
Even when he loves the most,
he gets left behind.
Even when he gives his all,
it's never good enough...
No matter how hard he tries.

The Other Person

It tingles, it hurts, it flutters
It's numb, it's jumpy, it's singing
It's like flying, sinking, gliding through water
Breathe the icy air, look into the sun, walk among the trees

These are ways to explain how it feels to find that Other Person.
The Other Person that forces feelings on you when they don't even try,
that demands your attention when you have things to do,
that shows you what it means to love and be loved.
The Other Person that is the Yang to your Yin.

I'm the canopy and ur the roots...
Suspended amongst the clouds yet buried in the earth we are,
we're one with each other by our trunk, our bond holds us fast.
Neither would survive without the other, so we feel whole, needed, loved... at last.
