Freedom

Freedom without responsibility
Freedom without accountability
Are the causes for evil
And there lurks the devil

Freedom is a privilege
Free only with knowledge
Not a right and must be earned
It is to be learned

King shouted ‘free at last’
A whisper from the past
What prevails is abusive power and oppression
Only to have mass suppression

A tiny quark in the universe
Why with each other are we adverse?
Organic existence one nanosecond in geologic time
A concept so sublime

AND

The heart aches
With all the fakes

Homeless Bound

I am homeless bound
Empty, hollow, void, around
Silence is the sound

Ego

My ego so weak
My life so humble and bleak
What do I so seek?

Anger

Why am I this way?
Mad, angry, hateful, all day
Don’t know why I say

Absurdity

aBsUrDiTy

The rhythm of life
The harmony that is
Upset only by human intervention
Destroyed by ego

The greed I see
Creativity masked by superficiality
Artificial appearance
Shallow experience

Existential absurdity
Waiting for something
When there is nothing
The side effect of life is death

This moment is all there is
The eternal moment
No beginning no end
Just is or justice

Organic matter
Is there such a concept?
DNA at the quantum level
A mutation – a quantum leap

A paradox of human intelligence
The more we know the more we don’t know

Stoned Heart

My heart is a stone
I sit here with me unknown
Lonely and alone

A Fallen Soldier's Plea

A Fallen Soldier’s Plea

Do not grieve
I ask you to believe
I went over there to fight
For what was right

I answered the call
And gave it my all
For all of you who do not believe
I gave you the right to disbelieve

I ask that you pray
For the day
When hatred and bloodshed cease
And there will be peace

For some of us to Arlington we will go
For me, I don’t know
But I do know where I went
And I went where I was sent

I gave my life
For my country, my children, and my wife
 I am at heaven’s gate
And there I shall wait

When that wreath is placed for the soldier unknown
You are not alone
I am with you
Ready to do it again anew

We shall go into the jaws of death
Until our last breath
Conquer what is wrong
And come out strong

This I ask of all of you

Glioblastoma

Glioblastoma

Glioblastoma - death in disguise
Makes its appearance before we realize
A stealth adversary lurking in the brain
Metastasizes without restrain
A complex enemy
Untrustworthy
Of unknown origin
Emerging from deep within
Deploying its vascular tentacles
Stealing nutrients from the body’s receptacles
Baffling is its behavior
In search of a savior
Chemo radiotherapy with no other choice
Unable to silence its voice
Surgery perhaps
With high risk of relapse
Immunotherapy – the current hope
But still a downward slope
We shall move on
Until it is gone
