Morgan Merrill Poem
His heart is whole
but without cracks
he smells like home
and loves with his soul
but not without cracks
he makes you smile on dark days
and loves with his soul
even when he is lost from this world
he makes you smile on dark days
takes you in
even when he is lost from this world
he never lets go
stubborn as a rock, unmovable
he smells like home
and for a second you feel whole because
his heart is whole.

Morgan Merrill Poem
We wake up earlier than we planned, we do it every time. We then took off driving straight into the rising sun. As we come up over the hill we can see the sun reflection on the smooth powder blue lake. Every one sighs and smiles. WE made it our place frozen in time. We practically leap out of the still moving car and race up through the sand to our favorite spot...the cliff. We stand there mesmerized on the edge looking down into the bottomless lake. Slowly everyone looks up at each other smiles and without a word we jump! Shock of the cold morning water hits first, we swim to the top and break through the water, look at everyone's faces and see that ear to ear smiles that will be glued to faces all day. We stay at the cliffs for hours. No phones to answer, no things to do, just friends and the water. We finally move to the sand, which we call our mini beach. This is when the sun block goes on. The sun is finally cooking our skin as if you could feel the sun rays wrapping around you like a blanket. WE layout and soak up the rays relaxing...just peace. All of the sudden the boys interrupt the peace by picking us up and preparing to throw us into the water. It's like time slows down. Kicking, screaming, and laughing right up until they throw us in, time speeds up and we are all playing again in the water. Racing to the buoys and back, playing water games, and building sand castles. Finally its dinner time, we all eat together laughing as if we where a real family. Watching the sun go down, everyone unwillingly cleans everything up; walks slowly back to the cars and drive away from peace, happiness, friends, warm summer sun, and our place frozen in time.

Morgan Merrill Poem
I can hear you...
Each laugh in my face
Each thrash at my heart
Each crack to my spine
I can hear you behind me but when I turn all I see are my friends... Then I hear it again
Each curled lipped lie
Each false accusation
Each hit to my knees
I then know it's you...my two faced friends who face me one way with the look I've always know then turn and face me with side I've never seen! How could you do what you've done...but then again isn't it the ones we know and trust the most the ones who crush our very souls.

Morgan Merrill Poem
How could someone make you feel this way. "INSIGNIFICNAT," "WORTHLESS," "YOUNG." To abuse the power is to sign your own death. Listen, obey, and follow. Keep moving forward in hopes you will be above them one day.

Morgan Merrill Poem
In a crowd they saw each other,
neither of them said a word, but just one look
and they saw each other's souls.
He winked and she smiled as her cheeks grew redder,
they knew it was true
they loved each other.
But They would never say to one another
how easily their two souls intertwined...
and the world would never know.
Just a soft glimpse of love touched for a moment
and lost in a second.

Morgan Merrill Poem
I can see you but you cannot see me, you cannot hear me, or feel me but I see you with your hands up tears in your eyes and a shake in your step...but you are not alone. The guns pointed at your head, you cant see those either but I'm sure you can feel them, like a rock pushing down on you. Fight! That's all I can say because the fight I see is one that I know you can get through. The people you see will have guns, uniforms and a glare on their faces, but look closely deep inside their eyes into their souls is fear and guilt. A fear just like yours...you are not alone. The life you have always known will be a figment of your imagination, the family and friends you knew will be swept away into a fiery pit. But just like you, there are others standing with their hands up, you are not alone. When you are bloody, battered, and bruised lying on the cold floor, when your stomach growls begging for food, when you slowly watch the ones you love wither away into the wind and the creatures called humans stare down at you as if you where nothing but a dirty vermin, remember this; you are not alone. The soldiers will look like a slippery serpent straight from hell, with slit eyes, and forked tounges, and when you are taking your last breath and all seems lost. Breath again and say, "I am not alone."

Morgan Merrill Poem
It was as if it grabbed,me pulled me in,and sucked me away to a deeper part of my soul a place where dust lay thick.
Nothing moved for ages, but when it did begin to move it shook with a mighty force. The darkness surrounded and then all of a sudden there was light everywhere. The dust flew and I looked inside and what I saw inside wasn't an innocent world but a cruel one where I am not invincible.

Morgan Merrill Poem
Anxiety is like a spider.
Around your heart with its legs entangled.
Stabbing slowly
moving pressure into the very veins that keep you alive.
Breathing becomes shorter.
quicker, Quicker, QUICKER!
Then the spider bites.
Everything explodes in that moment.
Not just the heart the whole body,
spinning towards the ground at uncontrollable speeds.
You can never stop it.
I wish it would just STOP!
