Rose Colored Glasses

Wishing life was different like I lived between the lines; not so predictable free to flow with time. My mind steadily at unrest won't let me see the best in you, in me. All I long for is to be free, like flying high, not even in, but passed the sky! If I could see it all through your rose colored glasses, but would that be a lie? Can life be so simple; here just put these glasses on, all your stress, troubles, struggles...GONE!..I can't live that lie. The best takes time; I've given my heart, so why can't I fly?

If I'M Gone

If I erased myself would you still have faith in yourself? Did you do everything you could for me, could you believe. Did you trust? Did you give all your love to me, everything that happened was it worth it to sit and watch me bleed? Now on your knees, you beg you plead, praying to that higher power to bring me back. Maybe you should have thought about that. No 9 lives I'm not a cat. Nothing you do, say, or feel can bring me back. You didn't think about that. The trust we had washed way can't save this one for a rainy day. Heads spin hearts ache, you tried to get my soul to break. Once it did I went away never to come back, but you should have thought of that.

What For

Hearts filled with holes and gashes.
Our headstones lined with dates and dashes.
To all of us a right of passage only masked by the end.
What is a friend?
What do we count on?
A piece of paper and pen, our hands, the clock,
watching the sun drift across the sky
Wishing this minute, hour, day would end!
But to what end?
The last breath until eternal shut eye?
We have one life, there is no living only once;
We live every day.
We die once upon a time life isn’t sweet.
We will never live in that nursery rhyme!
Not a movie no white picket fence.
We have to build it all ourselves; for what?
Only to give it away, to someone’s else,
Hopefully ours!
Hope that it doesn’t get taken away!
The collector will come live or dead.
There is no reason to fear or to dread;
For what?
Soon; one day, we will all be dead.
Shake the thought, but keep it in mind’s eye;
In the back of your head.
Soon the light go out for all of us, don’t dwell;
For what?
Life is grand, spectacular, all is swell.
We all experience heaven, we all go through
The depths of hell.
Life is what we made it until the day we fell.
Does your spirit fly free? Do you believe?
For what?
What are you here for; what mark will you Leave?
How long is the line between your dates?
What was it all for?
Did you do what you could?
Did you do everything you wish you would?
For what?
That time has come to be laid in your grave;
Stone set in place.
Soil settled days, months, years gone by!
For what?
Live and be free you will be on your knees dwell;
For what?
That time has come to be laid in your grave;
Stone set in place.
Soil settled days, months, years gone by!
For what?
Live and be free you will be on your knees
Begging for mercy, pleading more time
Please, please.

Emotional Terrorist

The rage is fueled inside me by the lies and agony you supply me. Like an illegal arms dealer supplying a terrorist with the means to bring down a peaceful happy village. The villains that harbor anguish in my heart make it hard to feel the warmth of my day to day life; life a knife dug into my guts. Outside I keep a tough exterior, but inside I deteriorate. All I have to hold me together is family, friends, kind words, and faith in something. My self, a god, something someone to help me make these insides look like their façade.

Your Story

Time to get my life right. No more black and white! Keeping it bright only the beauty of color in my sight! Life rolls on, take it with a grain of salt. Don't bring a knife to this gun fight! Life wins so do your time, write your story live, love, breathe every line.

Devil's Advocate

The devil sits on your shoulder
So you’ve grown more bold
This joke is past its prime
Every time you open your mouth
Dust pours out
Your mind moldy
Manufactured to fit ideals of your ancestors
Lost in the pool
Just part of an institution
A herded sheep
Told when to wake
When to sleep
Told when to wake
When to sleep
Our not my master
You may think you have me beat
Still I breathe
Fighting for us
My horns will be felt
My roar will be heard

Who Is Me

I sit and think
I squint and squeeze
Try to collect
To redeem every drop of energy
The agonizing journey
Trying to learn
To find me
Trust
Believe
Respect
Me
Who I am
Who I should be
Who will I be
Can it be
Will I ever see
Meet me
Do you understand
Maybe my soul
I’m just damned

Hearts Desire

The heart
It wants what it wants
But does it really know
What to do
Where to go
Can it peer behind the curtain
Can it at all
Will it at all
Ever certain
When the Veil lifts
Will it be allowed to drift
Off to a land of fairytale
Wings a flutter
The heart stuck
Black tide
What if the heart can’t breach
Destination loneliness
Never settled
Always at unrest
But hey
The heart knows best

The Courthouse Blues

Hopefully this is the last time I see your face. One last time that I'm on this place. You drug me through the mud, head hung in shame you made my name a disgrace. I just want peace from this pace, a smile returned to my face. Love in a warm heart. Life isn't hard its an art!

That Feeling

My brain
Wiggle, squirm, pulse
It writhes in pain
My brain
I can’t seem to grasp day to day
What caused me to be like this
Why do I think
Feel this way
My brain
How can I put it point blank
Pull the trigger
I still missed
Damnit
My brain
I tide the rope
But it broke
Is this a joke
Because my brain
How much can it take
When will I slip away
Far into the abyss
Me and my brain
