The Library

If you were trapped in a library,
That were alive a century ago
Would you sit there in the dark
Or look for a lantern in dread.
Would you scurry and grab a book
Or just lie there and take a big look
Would you be amazed as the ghosts from papers gathered around
And told, the archive was much more, before it was buried in the ground
That time may have snatched away the outside mould
But the archive could still give answers, as many as it could hold
Would you flip through the pages and see the ink come back to life
And words untangled themselves to tell the story
Of an end that hath come due to a fierce strife
Would you listen to the tales,
The ghosts from the scriptures had to tell
Or just lie down in the rubble
And wonder how you actually fell?
