Ode To Ice Cream

You, Ice Cream, are delicious.
I could eat you every day.
I could eat you for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
I’ll eat you for dessert, too.
I’ll eat you Winter and Summer, Fall and Spring.
Because, you, Ice Cream, are the best.

You can be chocolate, vanilla or more,
I love all of your flavors,
all except peanut butter.
You can be chocolatey and rich
or simple vanilla.
You are cold, sweet and delicious,
thick or thin, but always scrumptious.

Ode To Chocolate

Chocolate, you are creamy and delicious.
You are a wonderful treat.
I love to eat you after I eat
or as a snack.

Chocolate, you can come in a bar.
You can be filled with caramel,
or cream.
You are smooth and milky,
hard and dark.
You are always delicious.
You are my favorite treat.

My Guinea Pig

My guinea pig
With the black and brown stripes
And the eyes big and black like space
And tiny little ears
That perk up when he hears the food come.

My guinea pig
Who sits on my lap
As I read, or just watch him
As he shifts tring to find a comfortable position
As he squeaks
In happiness
Or annoyance
Or a thousand other emotions

My guinea pig
Who eats all day
And all night
And when he's done
He eats some more

Chocolate

Chocolate always just makes me so loco
I always have a piece in my pocket
It is a confection made of cocoa
This delicious treat is called chocolate

Chocolate filled with cherry or filled with cream
The measures I take for it are drastic
Each and every bar and piece is supreme
Chocolate is just so fantastic

Chocolate is so very delicious
So finding chocolate is my only quest
Though it isn't terribly nutritious
Chocolate is really truly the very best

The taste of chocolate is all out dazing
Chocolate is so very amazing

My Family

My Family is very important to me
We are all united
We all love each other
Being together just makes us so excited

Now I'm going to tell you about my mom
She loves us all
She is always so calm
She does so much for us

Next up is my dad
He always tries to be so funny
But his jokes are so bad
It's really quite sad

Last is my brother
He really likes to dance
He's really like no other
Being silly is really his thing

Ice Cream In the Summer

I love to eat ice cream in the summer
If it melts, it really is a bummer

Summer

Warm summer evening
Splashes in flowing river
Through lovely meadows

Meeting My Brother

When I first met you
it was winter.
I was five.
I remember being confused?
Why was everyone so excited?
It was just a baby.

I remember having to stay with grandma and grandpa.
Having to stay home
when my mommy and daddy weren’t there.
Where were they?
Why couldn’t I be with them?
After all, they were my parents.

I remember when grandma and grandpa
told me that I could see my parents.
We got in the car
and went to the hospital.

When we got to the hospital,
we went to the room that my parents were in.
But there was an unfamiliar person in the room.
It was a baby.

My parents said
“Come here, Hannah. This is your new baby brother.”
I wasn’t sure how I felt about that.
Sure he was cute,
but I’m the cute one, not him.
I’m supposed to be the one that gets all the attention.
Then I thought,
“But he’s so small. He won’t get any attention.

My parents handed me the tiny thing.
“His name is Harrison,” they said.
I held him as I sat in an old, worn out chair.
I heard a quiet TV in the background
and the hushed whispers of my parents.
I held him
and thought about how cute he was,
as I stared at him and he stared at me.

Imagined Fairyland

I live in a whimsical fairyland
Where all of the mythical creatures live
Here there is only one who holds all command
Who unites everyone who lives here

Here there are dragons and fairies
And creatures only imagined
Spread out in wide open prairies
And they all get along just fine

Now some say "Now how can this be?
There are no creatures such as these"
And then I say "I just don't agree.
These creatures do exist.

All you have to do to see them is close your eyes.
Now imagine each one and you'll see them."
They close their eyes and then their cries
"Now I see them too!"

Kitten

You are gone and you will never come back.
I will never see you again.
I miss watching you pace back and forth,
your four tiny paws scuttling against the ground.
I miss holding you up to me,
and feeling you purr in happiness.
I wish that I could pet your soft fur once more.
I miss you and want to see you again.
You, my adorable kitten, are forever gone.
