Kayla Street Poem
Where do I go to confront my fears? Into the night?
Embrace the cold reality of life- into the night.
Driving through Florida is more fun when you don't look back
Speeding through the vast expanse into the night.
Heated laughter embraces me from every angle
Deep orange embers glow and crackle long into the night.
You stand with your arms folded across your chest
Staring as if I weren't even there- into the night.
Joy is not always found in a broken home
Silent tears keep me company into the night.
Where did all my friends go? Did I even have any?
They have disappeared like hungry thieves into the night.
Sadness always descends upon me at just the right time
Taking my life would be so easy- vanishing quietly into the night.
This bloody concoction of death and deliverance is intoxicating
I raise my glass again- Cheers!- Into the night.
Tribulations are much too hard to face on my own
Please stay by my side, even into the night.
Charged memories explode like firecrackers, never leaving me alone
They yank my hand and pull me back into the night.

Kayla Street Poem
Moving too fast
The wind dances in my hair
Sea foam sprays my golden face
Angel feet lift high off the ground
The wind dances in my hair
Fluttering heartbeat prancing into the rain
Angel feet lift high off the ground
Smiling as the dawn slices through the night
Fluttering heartbeat prancing into the rain
Eternal dreams give way to the light of day
Smiling as the dawn slices through the night
A blissful awakening of radiant life
Eternal dreams give way to the light of day
Pale pink silk gowns enfold me in velvety kisses
A blissful awakening of radiant life
Sadness cannot exist in this earthen heaven.

Kayla Street Poem
Remember me- do you see my long brown hair?
Remember me- trying not to stare.
Remember me- as a ghost from your past.
Remember me- how we thought it would last!
Remember me- when you study her pretty face.
Remember me- I could have been drowned in lace.
Remember me- when I storm out in fiery haste.
Remember me- you are nothing but a waste.
Remember me- two can play this sick game.
Remember me- as your house dwindles to a mere flame.

Kayla Street Poem
My worst fear came alive again last night
My heart dropped and my face went pale with fright
I wanted to shut down completely
But I knew I wouldn't do it discreetly
So I sat solemn faced behind my deck of cards
Who knew that holding back would be so hard?
You told me that you think of me as your wife
That you're so happy I'm a part of your life
But yet my soul started to ache
And my body began to quake
The reality finally settled in
Dark and foreboding as sin
Driving home I wanted to die
My whole life felt like a lie
Her perfect face was all I could see
My mind was buzzing like an angry bee
Never ending crystal tears clouded my vision
I knew I had to make a decision
Should I end my life or keep on living?
Neither one is very forgiving.
But a voice whispered to me through my cries
And told me I didn't have to die
It's not my place to determine my fate
God simply told me to wait... it's not too late
My life is worth so much more
So I can't wait to see what's in store.

Kayla Street Poem
Staring out the window that is my life
Black and white and gray
Droplets of rain slide down, down
Then they vanish, without purpose
Winter winds cut straight to the bone
Rattling dead branches
Nothing left to feel, nothing alive
A life devoid of color
Snowflakes blend into my pale skin
I reach my frail finger out to touch them
But they are just out of reach
Avoiding me, just like
Everyone else.

Kayla Street Poem
Hold me tender, love me tight
My life has become such a fright
Stay with me through the night
Please don't ever leave my sight
Yet try as I might
I can't seem to reach the light
