A Tribute To Broken Wings

I have seen a poet
with broken wings
And though she says she can't fly
She still sings

Every note, from pen to paper
Her thoughts, they express
And though some seek to pin and cage her
She sings nonetheless

Though her heart might be hurting
Someday she'll soar
Even broken wings can be healed
I've seen it happen before

Though this is many poets' shelter
She's one of the finest I've seen
And if only in my personal opinion
She deserves the title 'Poetry Queen'

Waiting For Lonely Morning

You didn’t come that dreadful night
Or in the morning with the rain
Even through all my pain
You didn’t come, with all your light
You didn’t come to bring me might
And as though my loss were your gain
You didn’t come, you did refrain
From coming to take away my fright

And now my heart is cold and bare
And now you may come and see
That no love could be harbored there
And this is what I will always be
Because you didn’t come and didn’t care

A Ladder To the Sky

I seek a ladder to a place in the sky
A ladder that would take me to the top of the world
I would look down and no one would see
What I would see from the top of the world
O wouldn’t it be grand to be up so high
To see everyone but no one see me
Forever alone and forever free
I with myself and myself with me

Ugliness

But I can't help the ugliness I pour
And the mirrors I break and the veil I keep
Why is beauty something but ugly something more?
And good people are cursed and beautiful princesses sleep

And the mirrors I break and the veil I keep
There are masks I wear and lies I tell and reap
And good people are cursed and beautiful princesses sleep
But now curses aren't broken and beauty is only skin deep

There are masks I wear and lies I tell and reap
Why is beauty something but ugly something more
But now curses aren't broken and beauty is only skin deep
But I can't help the ugliness I pour

Cinderella and the Ball

Cinderella and the Ball
	Ashes and diamonds mingled fall
Blood on the floor, blood on the wall
A single glass slipper on the floor
	Ashes and diamonds mingled fall
The windows shine with golden light
A single glass slipper on the floor
Magic flowing on wing and night
The windows shine with golden light
Blood on the floor, blood on the wall
Magic flowing on wing and night
	Cinderella and the Ball

Siri

Siri, locate Walmart
Would you like me to Google Wall Fart?
Siri, locate Wallgreens
	I do not understand ‘sallscreens’
Siri, you are stupid
This is about you, not me
Siri, die!
Would you like me to contact the local suicide help center?

Snow White

Snow White and the apple so ruby red
	Ruddy temptation, calling slyly
A trick that would steal your breath and beauty
A poisonous guise of veiled death

	Ruddy temptation, calling slyly
Down you fall from a bit of fruit
A poisonous guise of veiled death
Offered by the Queen of Fate

Down you fall from a bit of fruit
A trick that would steal your breath and beauty
Offered by the Queen of Fate
Snow White and the apple so ruby red

Messiness

Going through troubles
Hiding my mistakes
Wading in the problems
I kinda feel like a fake

Hitting the bottom
Every time I try to climb
I’m buried in faults
And running out of time

The clock is going tick
And I have nowhere to run
Because they don’t know
I can’t rely on anyone

Struggling to keep my head
Fighting to stay on top
Feeling like I can never win
Feeling like a flop

So I hold my head up high
And push past the disarray
I know that I’ll find another one
But that will be another day

Crazy World

I woke up tomorrow
And sat on my head
So I ate supper
Before I got out of bed

Stranger things happen
In this crazy world

I went through the bedroom door
And was outside in the spring
It was snowing when I went to sleep
So now I’m listening to the moon sing

Stranger things happen
In this crazy world

The sky was brown
And pink and purple striped
Shaped like a frown
And leaking through the roof

Stranger things happen
In this crazy world

I’m drowning in air
While frying the constellations
With a magnifying pear
And some red bloomers

Stranger things happen
In this crazy world

I’ll try to fix the mistake
By finding where I went wrong
Maybe it was the beet and chocolate cake
Or the stranger I met on Mars!

Stranger things happen
In this crazy world

I’m pacing on the ceiling
Dodging the lava lamps
Later I’ll visit the dungeon
On the escalator ramps

Stranger things happen
In this crazy world

I’ll wear my best hat on my feet
Maybe some mascara on my nails
And a blouse on my head
And a scarf of decorative entrails!

Stranger things happen
In this crazy world

I’ll have to climb up six million stairs
Just to get lower than this room
And avoid the rampaging parfait fairs
‘Cause they get in the way

Stranger things happen
In this crazy world

I might dye a kitten
Like you do Easter eggs
My prisoners would be smitten
with a multicolored feline

Stranger things happen
In this crazy world

I have plenty of mess to sort out
And about seventy aliens following me
And someone keeps offering a padded room
Which I kinda want to see

Stranger things happen
In this crazy world

They say I’m crazy and insane
But I say it’s just this messed up world
So now I’m locked up and in pain
For seeing stranger things happen (Like I said they would)
