Morning Surprise

The culprit asleep
Upstairs. I go cross-eyed.
Lego in my shoe.

Winter Night

Stillness.
Heavy and dank,
The tepid air steams
From the ground, confused and distorted.
Warming.

Silent.
The spectrum muted.
Sallow wind haunts, and
Cobalt tones eclipse memories of white.
Chilling.

In Memory of Beau Biden : Cherry Blossom Haiku

Lying where it fell
Nestled in the dewy grass
Each petal still bright

Snowy Meadow In March

Delicate layer
Refracts in the brazen blue.
Light, frozen in time.

Hard Time

Schism between us.
Two lay, where there once was one.
I reach out to you.

Leaf

Each bud, a promise.
Not struggling for life. Look!
A secret unfolds.

Eyes

My fathers eyes are deep wells.
Byzantine, and full of old tears.
They plead with my across the echo of time.
With great hands he wipes away
A rivulet from his parched cheek,
And tells me, with the innocence of a child,
That he has been where I am.

Night

Nights shimmering eyes,
Flinching tail, knocks down trash cans,
Plays on cobblestones.

A Vermonters Demise

They
Say
He
Cut,
Split,
Stacked
Four cord of wood
Sat down
And
Died.

Sunday Afternoon

Coffee invites me.
Cheering light. "Phone call for me?"

Now I need a job...
