Jaycee Choi Poem
An ode to my pencil
To the strokes of the tip
Expressing my thoughts
The firm feeling of a grip
An ode to my pencil
To the mistakes that are written
The imagery that is caught
The ideas that are given
An ode to my pencil
Sharp lines of emotion
Direction being sought
My mind in motion
An ode to my pencil
Imagination whirring
Precision that can't be taught
Feelings stirring
An ode to my pencil
For guiding my hand
With care that can't be bought
Creates an ending that is grand

Jaycee Choi Poem
Colors of the rainbow, taste so sweet
Chewing fast and slow, crunch and repeat
Opposite of bland, grabbing slowly
Skittles in hand, perfect symmetry
Hard outside, inside not
Covers dyed, sparingly bought
Skittle skittles, explosions of sugar
Soft and brittle, of that I am sure

Held tightly as a secret
Darkness in the night

Jaycee Choi Poem
Knowing it won't go on forever
Trying to enjoy while it lasts
Reminding myself there will be an end
Feeling myself getting pulled in
Into the point of no return
From which I cannot escape
But I'm addicted to your taste
I can't pull away
Even when I know I should leave
I'm trapped in your embrace
I can't escape

Jaycee Choi Poem
Sun lowering in the distance
Bright red streaks
Dark mysterious purple
A touch of pink
Intake of breath
Wide eyes
In an instant
The sun is gone
Stealing away the warmth
Darkness in the air

Jaycee Choi Poem
Spreading our ideas
Throughout our world
Choices endless
Many paths to take
Different emotions
Baring our souls
Sharing everything
Jumping with our joy
Crying with anguish
Feelings that can be felt
In the heart of a stranger
Empathy flowing
From someone you've never even met
Writing has such connections
Soothing and abusive
That's why we do what we do
The raw power of writing

Jaycee Choi Poem
She is the girl who smiles at everything
Crying herself to sleep at night
She is the girl with the prettiest laugh
Dark secrets clouding her mind
She is the girl with passion
Afraid of getting hurt again
She is the girl anybody would want
Walls built to hide her reality
She is the girl whose embrace is pure comfort
Anxiety clutching her at every touch
She is the girl who shows love with her eyes
Terrified she'll be left alone
She is the girl who makes people feel special
Wondering if she'll ever be good enough
She is the girl who radiates happiness
Pushing her heart towards the cold
She is the girl with captivating beauty
Feeling ashamed looking at her reflection
She is the girl with meaningful words
Wishing somebody would just care
She is the girl who seems perfect
Picking up her pieces off the ground
The girl who was never broken
The girl who was never whole
She is the girl

Jaycee Choi Poem
Moonlight streaming through my window
Illuminating the tears running down my cheeks
Knowing that there's no point
No point in shedding these tears
For one who doesn't care
And yet they still flow down
Relentless like a storm
In place of the words that can't be spoken
Showing emotions that can't be said
Desperately searching for warmth
Finding none
Darkness covering my window

Jaycee Choi Poem
"Get over his smile." They all say that, but it's hard. "Get over his eyes." How? He has chocolate brown eyes. "Get over his looks." I'll try. But now what's left? I think. And now I realize. Under the mask he wears, he is conceited, and cocky. He isn't kind, but everyone gives in to his smile. He has a rich and resonant voice so wonderful, that no one cares what he says. But in the depths of his eyes, is a deep sadness. Not many can see it, but deep down, it's there. That's what makes me crazy. I want to know why he is sad. He has everything, but one look in his eyes and you know that he thinks he has nothing. And that makes me crazy. I want to know. I want to know why. But another look in his eyes and I'm lost. Completely lost.

Jaycee Choi Poem
Walking in the rain
Feeling my way down this path
I've walked here too many times
Too familiar with the way this is gonna end
Can I not change this?
Make a turn in the road?
Why do I need to always go down this road?
I'm not fully to blame.
Dancing in the rain
Feeling the droplets landing on my skin
A cold kiss to my warm body
Gradually getting numb to all the pains
Starting to feel myself slowly going back
Not wanting to always go back
Why do I need to go back?
I'm not going back.
Thinking in the rain
Feeling a melody perched on the edge of my lips
Words wanting to spill out
But the longer you wait, the harder it gets
Words hidden into the depths of my mind
But me, not wanting to pull them out any longer
Stepping into the shadows
Crying in the rain
Feeling hot tears dripping down my cheeks
Teardrops heavier than the rain on my face
Emotions swirling through the night sky
Wishing you would tell me everything's okay
But knowing it's not
It's too late
