Elles Martin Poem
Inside she cries
once more she dies
as Mona Lisa smiles
She paints on dreams
without the means
to live them for a while
On puppets wings
her smile still sings
to fool the world outside
Tho cuts are borne
from loving thorns
that ravage deep inside
She'll bury deep
and none shall weep
no tears shall sting blue eyes
Behind the face
with steely grace
she'll live
as silence cries
No more to breach
nor seek to reach
And so she shall beguile
with precious heart
she'll just impart
Her Mona Lisa Smile

Elles Martin Poem
I saw her wandering out by the trees
colored hair like the red autumn leaves
a forest of flame
and I called out her name
And the lonely river looked on
We made love by the banks every day
whenever she passed by this way
though she wasn't mine
she would be in time
while the lonely river looked on
She whispers her love for me now
in my ears as the soft willow bows
I left her alone
as I ran way on home
as the lonely river looked on
As I walked up my well trodden track
to see if my love had come back
she was laying right there
skin as red as her hair
and the lonely river looked on
Winds rustled round me with cries
as I saw in my lovers cold eyes
laid open in fear
of what came to her here
and the lonely river looked on
By the banks of the river she'll stay
buried under the willow that sways
while I silently weep
in the silence she keeps
and the lonely river looks on

Elles Martin Poem
To paint me in a picture
what colours would you choose
simple pastels lightly brushed
with gentlest sweeping hues
or brashest harshest darkest strokes
that keep me prussian blue
yellow ochre scarlet lake
gamboge davy's grey
raw sienna indian red
just mix them up and play
paint me in a picture
paint me running free
paint me at your easel
paint it now for me
in colours from your palette
in colours that you use
paint for me a picture
and paint me out the blues

Elles Martin Poem
There'll be flowers in our garden
to bloom for us in Spring
I plant them here for you my Love
for scents of life they bring
We'll watch them rise together
the first Spring they shall grow
as coloured carpet garden blooms
both you and I shall know...
That as we wait and watch them
by a drizzled window pane
we'll see unyielding buds that close
and fight the driving rain
See velvet dew drop petals
that seek the cherished light
and bask in breathless sunshines last
then curl and fade by night
Captured us a moment
and tho my love you ask
to quell and hold the seasons change
so life shan't come to pass
...But pass it must....
to leave you
with a seasons floral song
and know I am still with you
each Spring that comes along
Scents that send you air to breathe
pervading pure and sweet
and bring you hope to dance again
with flowers at your feet

Elles Martin Poem
What shadows seek this shelter
upon my every breath
that chance to make me falter
shall but covet me for death
weave cold heart to darkness
entwining spells around
wrapping heavy footsteps
bind and flay me underground
abandon soul to places
where it seeks to not return
suck me to a vortex
where forever I shall burn
a warrior set of heart and mind
will call upon the fierce
encumbered not in shadows
for my courage it shall pierce
lonely weighted brittle chains
shan't grip around me tight
I shall steal this soul from darkness
I shall ride it to the light
A warrior a warrior
I shall cut upon the chord
and slice out from the shadows
with the faith upon my sword
