Women's Rules For Men -Not a Poem-

#1 Put the toilet seat down. What woman wants to end up falling into the toilet in the middle of the night? #2 Stop changing the channel. Believe me guys, when women are trying to watch a soap opera, you best leave the remote alone. #3 Put your own dirty clothes in the laundry. I hate picking up crusty socks. #4 Stop farting at the table. Do you mind? I'm trying to eat. #5 Excuse yourself when you burp. And they say our children have to have manners. #6 Roll your own damn cigarette. When was the last time you rolled me one? #7 Clean your messes up. Trust me guys, you're a bunch of slobs. #8 Don't call me stupid. We women are just as smart, if not smarter than you are. #9 Move out of my way. When a woman is trying to get something done, the man always stands in the middle of the room. #10 Turn the music down. I know you guys love your music loud, but sheesh! #11 Get out! The least you guys could do is give us a little privacy in the bathroom. #12 Do it yourself. I'm sure you guys are smart enough to do things on your own. #13 Get it yourself. Guys, get your lazy, fat butts off the couch and make your own sandwich. #14 Use your manners. We don't like being told what to do without a simple please and thank you. #15 Take your boots off at the door. Women hate it when men carry dirt into the house after just cleaning the floors. #16 Shut up! When we are trying to watch a movie, that means we are trying to hear it too. Cups -Personification-

They like to be held
when the weather gets cold,
they could be worn down to nothing
don't mind growing too old.

They enjoy having a cold drink
even a warm one would do,
enjoy being kissed softly
when they're feeling blue.

They won't cry a single tear
so long as you're there with them,
all they really want
is to be your friend.

I know this sounds corny, but I'm trying to find something to write about.

Don'T Let Hate Consume You

Don't let hate consume you
it will eat you alive,
make you hateful and bitter
your life will take a nosedive.

You'll grow old much faster
way before your time,
let the love you feel in your heart
be set free, let it shine.

It's hard not to hold a grudge
especially if your heart's been hurt,
let God deal with those persons
think of them as dirt.

Just walk away from them
turn the other cheek,
what goes around, comes around
be yourself, mild and meek.

It's okay to feel angry
you have every right,
don't let hate consume you
never let it keep you awake at night.

God will punish those in the end, that decided to make your life so hurtful and horrible, that you just can't take it anymore. Don't sink to their level. You are much better than they are.

Brutal Winter Wind -Triple Kimo-

In the Maritimes, it is difficult Especially, on the Bay Where winds are carried. The temperatures drop down, really low Could swear, you're in the Arctic Snow piles up too. The brutal winter wind, stays close behind Dressed up, like an Eskimo You will beg for warmth. Copyright Cynthia Jones Feb.6/2007

Empty Coffee Cup -Personification-

Whispering, waiting
it sits on front of me,
telling me to have more
but, still it sits lonely.

It looks at me; wanting, waiting
wants to have a comforting moment with me,
should I, shouldn't I?
Mint green coffee cup sits empty.

"I'll keep your coffee safe
so you can sip it slow,
let the rich aroma fill your nostrils
gently as it goes."

I give in to temptation
it won't let me be,
waiting, whispering
my full coffee cup gawks with glee.

Looking Through the Window

Looking through the window
people are walking by,
the sun shines brightly above
in the calm azure sky.

Looking through the window
where many children play,
running and riding their bikes
not a care, on this cool day.

Looking through the window
birds are out on the lawn,
to and fro they walk
been doing it since the break of dawn.

Looking through the window
breeze breaks through the trees,
although it may be cool
it gently carries crunchy leaves.

Looking through the window
the world around is full of life,
getting out, enjoying the weather
leaving behind their daily strife.

I had the first couple of lines in my head a few days ago and wanted to make sure I got them down, before they disappeared.
