Shadows

As the moon aligns itself with the stars
I search to find me
Can’t find my way
My psyche is perplexed
Seemingly, I long to be found
Yet, I have left no trail of sanity
Left no footprints of sincerity
Silhouettes are numerous
Where I was last portrayed
A mire outline, a profile
A mirage
Depicts the whereabouts of my mind
Illusions and premonitions
Forebode life
Foreshadow the inhabitation of despair
Predict the transition into solitude
Sheer hues of the deep, dark night
Diversify the challenge of discovery
Still I search
Overlooking not one possibility
Though my vision impaired
I continue franticly
Seeking for myself
Among the many shadows

The Neverending Flame

The candle, which sets my heart aflame
The fire, which scorches my soul with your name
One question I ask of you, the truth if you please
Why’d you reject my light, when I’ve begged on my knees
Begged for your love, pleaded for you to me
Pleaded that on your mind, my heart would be
Did not thou see, the gifts I had in store
In order to spoil thy body and spirit galore
For now, that opportune has passed, for another is mine
This unfortunate heart forever loves at the wrong time
This new found torch, so angelically sweet
She warms my soul with her soothing heat
Her hues calming, her fumes embracing
A torch not planned for replacing
Although, with that said
Visions of an old flame roam the boundaries of my head
A flame never proclaimed dead, for loving you still I do
The candle, the fire, the NeverEnding Flame that burns for you

Midnight Promenade

The moon is full, the stars illuminating
While together you and I lay contemplating
We stroll, hand in hand, dance in romance
Giving love a second glance
And yet a third and a fourth, giving nothing to chance
So meditate on this time, meditate on this place
Waiting not for my heart and thine, to meet face to face
Waiting not to view your shine, waiting not to feel your glow
As we flow to the soul’s song, sweet and slow
The groove, subtly mellow
Waltz to the heart’s beat
Pulses racing one another, yours feeling defeat
Heavenly constellations, bless us with their beauty
Rain their love upon us, especially upon she
Though she needs it not
Her beauty extraordinary
Her mind and body, a holy sanctuary
Verily, verily I proclaim to thee
What a magnitude my passions have grown to be
At this midnight promenade, for all to see
Wanting you to explore me, travel through my pearly gates
Still, my love grows for you madam, as your chariot awaits

The Heart of a Thousand Souls

We are-
The heart of a thousand souls
Therefore, no one knows
The stories that go untold
As our lives unfold
And as the tale goes
Our lives are being froze
In the scheme of our every dream
Must command, must control
What occurs inside
Where we sometimes hide
Our pride
And of our face and name
We are often ashamed
Shall we remain
A slave of our own blame?-
Where as, let us refrain
From this game
But let us roll life’s dice
Once more
Let us take a stand for
The emotional being
In that which you are now seeing
The love
The hate
The shame
The blame
The joy
The pain
Through every romance
Through every circumstance
Through our souls, we advance
The heart of the soul
We express
How we are cursed
And how we are blessed:
So we’re taking you on a journey
To the bottom of our pits
And you just might find light
In the shadows of our abyss

Reading... Is Fundamental

If you could read my emotions
You’d probably lose focus
Be honored by my closeness
Honored that I wrote this
If you could hear my whispers
And see my gestures
You’d see how my words could affect her’s
If you could read my offense
You’d see I have no defense
And you have no reasons
To deny your feelings
Cause I go for the long ball
I’m in for the long haul
And I could wait all night just to receive your phone call
So if you’re ready, I’m here
And if you’re not I’ll wait
Just take your time… make sure you’re reading it straight

If you could read my mind,
You’d be reading for an eternity
Thoughts flow so fluently
Conversations about you and me
I hope you like what you read
I hope you love what you see
Prologues and prefaces
Intros and outtakes
Allow you to intake and inhale the essence
And embrace the aroma
And get a feel of my aura
It burns and glows
To light your way
And enlighten your heart
I’m hoping you stay,
To finish the rest
But, I won’t put under any duress
If you like it, you like it
If you don’t, you don’t
But we’ll see…
By the end of tonight

The Victory In Defeat

There’s always a victory, no matter the outcome
For the victory in defeat is where character’s from
Some, see it differently, but me I particularly,
Would much rather be, the kind that takes lightly, the curves
Thrown by life, throughout the day and the nights
Whether its dark of its light, I keep my pride
My dignity, justified, but still inside, there’s a war raging
On the outside, things are moving feelings constantly changing
The choices we are facing, make us stronger by the minute
The decisions that we make are lead by the internal spirit
You feel it and believe it, no matter what it may say
Guiding our hearts through the hardships of each day
Forever there’s anger, but through the spirit, it slowly fades away
And makes happiness stay, unexpectedly, the joy strays
And again, the anger replays
Despite war and anger, the spirit is strong
The very thing that keeps us holding on
Holding tight, the character it unfolds
The pride defeat brings, loud and so bold

Unknown Contentment

We’ve only met briefly
Few times
I’ve been on expeditions to find you
Only to be unsuccessful
It seems as if you wish to remain distant
I’ve longed for you
Yet you’ve rejected me
You usually join me with love
But it seems she now hates me
Sometimes you came with self-fulfillment
But he could care less for me
What are my faults…?
My shortcomings…
Is the problem with me?
Life is insufficient
Soul down-trodden
Aspirations lost
Waiting for a miracle
Longing…
Urging…
Yearning…
To finally know satisfaction
And as time continues
Until we meet again
I can only fantasize
What it is like
To live, live, and live life once more
Only by way of contentment

Job Hunting

Such a yearning in my heart to find a one
No, find the one
With the appropriate prerequisites
The right experience
The proper internships to complete my externship
The perfect applicant
Just right for the job
After many interviews and several orientations
I was able to convince myself you didn’t exist
Until…
That long conversation we had on that night off
I didn’t know what it was
Maybe it was your voice
Or maybe your laugh
All I know- is that at that moment,
The idea of the perfect applicant,
No, employee, rushed back into my mind
You may possibly know this, but I’ve never told you
So I guess now is the best time
Your cosmic beauty and your angelic sound waves
Bring my black hole to the brink of bewilderment
You send my mind on expeditions to another galaxy
Yet, like the roots of the oak tree, you are so grounded
You know not how you have impacted my life
At times, you fill me with the vivacity that I thought I could only find in the fiction
paperbacks
I live in awe with you
And like I said, you may not know,
So simply put…
I’m feeling you

Italicized, Bold, Underlined

She boldly merges her tabs slowly to my left
I undo my last move but redo her last breath
Therefore, not an imitation, simply a re-creation
Her soul’s solidification of my interpretation
Which was copied and pasted to my interface
While creating a free space, instituting a page break
Forming a shortcut to the top of my desk
Graphically displaying degrees of her loveliness
Thus, the user is blessed
And must no longer stress about living in duress
Underlining life’s text
Italicizing its meaning, portraying its purpose
She aligns with the right
While her left is justified
AS HER FONT SHINES WITH PRIDE
All lines bold, underlined, and italicized,
All reviews and checks final, but only with my consent
For together our document is complete, I’m simply waiting for it to print

Take the Chance

Life has a way of changing your perspective
Because most of us know what we want
Most look for the definites
Whereas I, on the other hand,
Am wishing only for the possibility
Wanting only the chance of opportunity
While everyone wants to be world renowned
I only want the chance to have a stage
While everyone wants to be rich and wealthy
I only want the chance of a lifetime
So many others want to be cool
I just wish I have the chance to be myself
And no one wants to be a bum
But I long for the opportunity of struggle
They all want their face on a screen
I’m looking forward to the chance on a postcard
Millions want their names in lights
I hope I get chance for a bulletin board
Everybody wants to be in the love
I can settle for the chance to be a fling
And while every, single, one wants to be your one and only
I’m wishing for the possibility of rejection
