Hope

That flame that burns so bright,
I'll carry inside my heart.
I'd never let it go out you see,
cause it's what most dear to me.
I've had darkness all around,
Pressing to surround.
Perseverance brought me back to light.
In this life I'll have many more fights,
but so long as I have the light,
I'll never doubt in my own might.

Love

I find it does not matter,
this feeling I have for you.
It doesn't matter,
because this feeling is not true.
What I feel for you I've felt for others,
many time before you.
What I should do with this feeling,
is not direct it at you.
Redirect it like the sun's warm glow,
so that I myself can grow.
Bloom into a flower,
right in front of you.

Struggle

Crystal eyes upon the horizon,
ready to bring the new world in.
But something's been blocked,
the new cannot come in.
We struggle harder until we see,
that the struggle is not what makes us free.

Friendship

What is it about friends,
that makes them so dear?
Makes your heart always glad just to be near?
Always more dear than the loveliest love,
because there is little to fear.
When life seems to rough, they're always there to pick you up,
prodding you to live life again
Because they love you for you.
Alone, you'll never have to walk again.

Strength

Such strength in my heart,
nothing can tear me apart.
I might stumble,
perhaps even fall.
But this strength would save me from it all.
Some think they are not strong,
To them I say, this strength is available to all.

Pain

Such pain in my life,
where did I pick up such strife?
Where do these emotions hide.
That I cannot even hide inside.
I cannot make up my mind,
is this something that I want or don't?
Why am I made up of two minds?

Regret

Regret is the thing you feel when the heart is in despair
That pensive mood when you feel nothing but the fear
Regret is in the human soul it never leaves your side
It's what haunts both dreams and life
Passed on from generation to generation
It's beneath all the lies
Sometimes it's like a familiar friend
Reminding us of the knowable past again
How can you get passed all the regrets in your life?
I know not, because mine are still alive.

Flying

Stars shine in the sky
Why can I not fly so high?
Around me, limits are all I see
What will allow me to break free?

Someday

The stars in the skies
see their reflection in my eyes.
Their attraction is undeniable to me.
If i could visit them so high,
I'd have tears rolling from my eyes.
So pretty, peaceful and free,
the exact same way I'd have me be.
Perhaps I'll reach heights so high.
Not today, maybe tomorrow.
That perfection is not yet me.
