Albuquerque

As I crested the top of the hill,
looking out over the city.
Lights twinkling and sparkling,
like diamonds in the night sky.
As far as the eyes can see,
the beauty in Albuquerque.

Too Much To Ask For

Is it too much to ask for
someone to love me for all my silly quirks?

Is it too much to ask for
someone to love me and my faults? Is it too much to ask for
someone to laugh with, share with, dream with?

Is it too much to ask for
someone to love me for my mind?

Is it too much to ask not to be judged?

Is it too much to ask for
love to be more important than money?

With you it wasn't too much to ask for.
You gave it all freely before I could ask.

A Mothers Love

You came into my life when I fell in love with your son.
Not only did I find my soul mate and best friend,
I also found the mother I never had in my life.
Your unselfish and unconditional love swells my heart with pride.
I know in my heart that you will always be there for me.
Through not only the good times but also the bad.
You ma
y not have given birth to me,
Yet I know in my heart you love me like one of your own.
I hope that I will always make you proud.

Fly Free

You can't buy my love,
so keep your diamonds and jewels.
You can't control me,
so don't waste your time.
You can't talk me into staying,
so save your breath.

I gave you my heart,
only to have you rip it out and crush it.
So once again I pick myself upand dust myself off.
Put on my wings and prepare to fly.

But before I leave, let me say this.
You may have been able to crush my heart,
but you will never crush my spirit.

My wings in the wind,
I fly to the next crossroad in my life.
Which path shall I choose this time?

No matter the path I choose,
I know that I will love again
and my spirit will always fly free.

Prayers For Acceptance

The voice in my head is screaming again,
Open up your heart, mind, and soul.

Let yourself be judged
within the eyes of the ones you love, respect, and admire.

I pray for acceptance,
lessons learned and taught

Empty Promises

You promised me the world, but only gave me the slums.

You promised me the moon and stars, but only gave me ashes.

You promised me happiness, but only gave me heartache.

You promised me love, but only gave me pain.

And when you promised to always be true,
I didn't realize it was only to you.

Voice of Reason

My heart yearns for you.
Passion and love scream insideof me to be released.
Voices invade my head.
Each one louder than the last,
but only one drowns out them all.
It is only a whisper,
yet I hear it well.
Build a bridge, not a wall.
Follow your heart, surrender your guns.
Time will heal your wounds
and teach you to trust again.
Fate is on your side
and destiny is only the beginning.
