Michael News Poem
How in Anyone's Name Can This Be?
Laid out in
Uneven lines
On the road
In the dirt
Little, swaddled
Dishevelled wraps
Uneven in size
Stiff little bundles
Empty inside
Like dolls
'Cept they're not

Michael News Poem
Time
His middle was like a tree trunk
You could see how his time was passing
Through the holes in his belt
Each of them frayed and misshapen
Before it was discarded for a new one
Round, perfect
Ever further from the beginning
Ever closer to the end

Michael News Poem
Tell Them (Daddy)
Someone on the ground
Has to say
I will not do this
Distance (and remove)
Is no longer an excuse
Go home
Cuddle your cradled children
Tell them
Tell yourself
You are doing this for them
Tell them
How there just isn't
Enough room
For the children
The children
On the other side
So, they died
You killed them
Tell them
Tell them
(I will not do this)
