Tabitha Mathis Poem
Why you chose me
Why you chose me?
Because of the arch in my back,
The beauty within my skin,
The red hills I love to wear,
Or is it my dress code that is official,
Why you chose me?
Do you know anything about me?
Do you know what my future holds?
Will you be a crutch in my life?
Are you here for me or to hold me back?
Why you chose me?
Is it because I have two nice cars,
A nice house,
A job with 5 children,
Do you know the reason you want to be with me?
I don’t need a crutch,
I need a back bone,
Don’t need an extra child,
I need a real man,
So why you choosing me,
Make sure you know what I need

Tabitha Mathis Poem
The Dreamer
Only in her dreams everything exist
Down below earth she could never forget
Rising to the top is all she reminisce
No stopping until she gets there;
As the wind blow through the trees,
She never stop there as the tornado made her bow on two knees;
Always focus and never played around,
The young woman tried best to find her way to town,
Gathering thoughts and ideas from the ground,
Want stop until she get there,
Many may come and many may go,
With a dream you will never know,
Not giving up on anything as time flow,
The dreamer is the only one who knows.

Tabitha Mathis Poem
Where Are You
I've looked through the waters,
Watched the sun as it goes down,
Sat on the rock for days,
Nothing but beautiful sounds,
The ocean calm as it can be,
Not a dolphin in site,
A whale nor a shark,
Just a beautiful sun light,
I miss you so much,
What shall I do?
I'm in my feelings now,
Where are you?

Tabitha Mathis Poem
Fell asleep and couldn't wake up,
Fighting against a black shadow,
Somebody please wake me up,
This shadow holding me down,
Never seen such a thing,
Kicking and screaming as I try to lift myself up,
The shadow strongly holding me,
Still crying out for help,
No one can hear me, but myself,
Repeating to myself this is just a dream,
The spirit finally left,
Someone cut the light on in my room,
Which help me woke up from the danger of doom,
Boy I was so scared,
Really didn't no what to do,
All I can tell you is my dream was true.

Tabitha Mathis Poem
I stand and wait for you everyday,
Same spot,
Same time,
As the water falls heavily,
Can't do anything, but pray.
Looking to see if your face appears inside the water,
just a smell of your cologne,
Your clothing,
Anything just show me a sign that you're okay.
Can't sleep, can't eat,
Gone away too soon,
Maybe one day we will met again,
Can't wait to hold your hand,
It's very hard to loose a good friend,
As inspirational as you were,
it's very hard for me to see,
You left way before me.

Tabitha Mathis Poem
Shadow in the Dark
I see you staring at me,
But who are you?
What do you want?
All you do is stand there and watch me,
Are you my guardian angel?
You walk closer to me and you still don’t say anything,
What is it?
The cat got your tongue,
Why you watching me?
Do you know me from somewhere?
I’m too afraid to come to you,
So I’m asking you from a distance,
I notice you look taller than me,
Then I turn another way we are the same height,
Just figuring out you could be me,
You are my shadow in the dark.

Tabitha Mathis Poem
To the mother's I do know,
To the mother's I don't know,
Tomorrow is your day,
You showed love,
You showed you care,
You went all out your way to be there,
You cooked,
You cleaned,
You washed their dirty jeans,
Mother it's your day,
Author/ Poet what do you mean?
You washed dishes,
You cooked,
You even pulled out those books,
You've yelled,
You've smiled,
You've even cried out loud,
Now sing,
Now dance,
Just don't pee pee in your pants,
It's Mother's Day,
Your the best,
I don't know you,
But I love you,
Now go pull out that beautiful dress,
Just dance cause mommy your the best.

Tabitha Mathis Poem
You see I see a lot of things in my dreams,
When some people think dreams don't mean a thing,
A lot of things I see does come true,
My dreams are for me,
It might not be for you,
Visions will come and visions will go,
Take heed to your vision,
You just might not know,
Every sign means something,
Just wait and see,
Just how your vision comes to reality,
Think positively,
Think wisely,
Keep negative friends afar,
Just know your vision is near,
No matter where you are,
Every one visualize,
Whether you are blind or can see,
That's how I know it is part of our reality.

Tabitha Mathis Poem
I ask you to help me as I go through these trails,
Can't say it is easy,
but I still try,
Dear God I ask you to help me,
as me being a single mom,
my life is not perfect as I try to stay calm,
Please help me as I see from day to day,
I know you have something better for me,
as I kneel down to pray,
Believe me life is not easy,
but I try to go on,
I need you to help me,
As my bills are due now,
I'm coming to you father,
There is no one else to turn too,
So I come to you alone,
Thank you for helping me,
As I walk my days alone,
My children will never understand,
That's why I cry out in a poem.
