Megan Dewitt Poem
Anxious worry seizes my heart
Now my pulse quickens and wavers
X-ray my chest and find my heart's compression
I try to calm down but it's simply no use
The stress builds and the world spins
Every thought pushes me deeper into panic
Yesterday it was paying for my groceries

Sight
All want to be seen
But none take the time to look
We search to be found

Megan Dewitt Poem
Peggy Sue is a superstar
She sings real loud when she rides in the car
When mommy cheers and starts to cry
Peggy Sue feels she can touch the sky
Peggy Sue is a dreamer, too
She dreams up places like Skizamaroo
In dreams she travels far and wide
For dreams give Peggy a place to hide
See, Peggy Sue is just like you
'Cept her dad beats her mom til she's black and blue
And her clothes don't fit and there's nothing to eat
she's ashamed to be seen as she walks down the street
There is no escape for our poor Peggy Sue
And there's nothing our dear little Peggy can do
She's just a girl, she can't stop the fights
She can't end the cold and the hungry, long nights
So she sits and she waits and she dreams for the day
When someone will take little Peggy away

Megan Dewitt Poem
At some point in time, everyone wants to be a writer. Everyone has that itch in
their hand, that dream in their heart, and that urge to share their mind and soul
with the universe in the form of words on a piece of paper. Everyone wants to
open the window to their heart and soul and stand there proud and unashamed
as the world peers in. Everyone wants to be understood and acknowledged for
the beauty we all feel inside of ourselves. Everyone wants to give their very
essence and have it be accepted and loved absolutely and unconditionally. The
trouble is that as we travel down the road, dreaming of this great reveal, we walk
right past an open window. And then another. And then another. Everyone wants
to be seen. But for that, it takes someone to stop and look.
