The Multitude of Man

Sometimes the world can bring you fear, sometimes it brings you pain.
Sometimes the world brings sorrow, it's like a constant rain.

Sometimes it seems the laughter and joy are all too few and far.
Sometimes it seems our saving grace is just a shooting star.

If only man would look around and see the meaning that's there.
Man wasn't put here to conquer, man was put here to love and share.

Mankind is a growing multitude, it's a never-ending tide;
but man is conquered by his greed and he's conquered by his pride.

My prayer is that I'll live to see the multitude join hands.
I pray I'll see a world at peace, a world without demands.

I pray one day I'll rise and find a world that's kind and just.
I still have faith in the multitude, I still have hope and trust.

When the multitude is gone, and mankind is no more,
I hope we found before we left what we were put here for.
