Internal Design

Abstract innocence,
a geometric painting
configured by truth.

Nature's Element

Banished by nature.
 Condemned to a watery
 grave of recycled

 tears. Struck down in the
 wake of newborn innocence.
 A fallen angel

 surrendered in an
 untimely demise, seizing
 tangible feeling.

 A photographic,
 stagnant beauty entrenched in
 a cleansing casket.

 Existing among
 the wrath of nature’s recourse.
 Embodied silence.

The Artist

Silence
as you stare into a realm of enlightenment.

Hush
and harken to the soft hum lingering overhead.

See
the jaded green stage illuminating underneath rows of intellectual
bodies.

Hear
the faint vocals of past artists flicker in between rows of
knowledge.

Glance
in the direction of a steady stream of syllables emerging amidst famous minds
discussing their independent masterpieces.

Watch
as scores of words are hurled in a bandy across each layer of dissatisfied
customers trying to out-perform each other.

Listen
to the myriad of masterminds whose preserved states retire among treasure
troves of bound acquaintances.

Read
the famous accounts of the geniuses who have cognitively captivated the
audience’s attention.

Absorb
into your thirsty mind the breath of wisdom that looms overhead

Create
a unique work of honorable mention and individual satisfaction based on
inspiration.

Reflect
upon the masterpiece that has unfolded before your eyes.

Remodel
the incongruous fragments and dead ends that, like a split hair, cause a less
than satisfying image.

Rebuild
that unstable foundation with stronger scaffolding whose flexibility allows you to
remold the piece at will.

Read
the product of reconstruction like a constant work-in-progress.

Desert Sands

Desert sands
Elongated albino snake skin
slithering smoothly across shadowed spaces
seeking shelter
cowering in the crevasses amidst the dunes
concealing their identity
naturally driven-
triggered by instinct
rising to defend their territory
heads held in majestic poise
blackened casings shrouding secret privacies
burnt orange bellies protruding from sunken, empty caverns
reflecting orbital rays
Para mounting over frightened oases
Tickling scorching blue skies
V-notched tongues framing a desert painting
Trapping the white, summer orb in between flaccid ribbons
Exposing its reality
Virgin to its surroundings
Uncertain of what is looming around the bend.

Simplistic Solitude

A visitor looms in a stagnant space-a witness trespassing in tranquilities chaos,
hovering alongside the end of the earth.
Body existing among muted pigments,
     heart painted with shadowed feelings,
encompassed by an interlude of openness,
     inhaling its confusion.

A footprint- a physical impression only to be worn away by time,
a reminder that she is a temporary existence.
Wet sand pooled around bare feet gives her prints dimension and meaning,
     validating her presence.
Her slender frame enveloped by a white innocence,
      clinging to her with desperation,
      as if at any moment,
      it could be swept away.

She waits.

Brown-eyed gaze reaching over miles of endless freedoms not yet encountered,
     but desired.
Faint rays of light dance in between her legs revealing her silhouette,
a fixed presence nestled among nostalgia.
A deafening silence consumes her,
She is victim to her mind.
Clouds hang as if suspended in simplistic solitude, shaping their meaning.
She is but a fixture in the openness of a crowded space.

It comes to warn her,
     washing away her bare-footed impression,
revising the meaning of her existence.
Internally, she has surrendered herself to it,
but in her dreams, she has given herself to this place.

Would it feel the need to return, steeped in a greater confidence?

The world is silent, yet her mind is turbulent.
Breathless and consumed, a delicate tear places her at its mercy.
And yet, secretly, she surrenders herself to the inherent notion that
time cannot wash away the footprints in her heart.

Silos

Twin towers on a snow-covered mountainside,
weathered and bruised by age.

Skeletons.

Sacrificed by merciless breath,
veterans of war.

Once providers that fed hungry mouths,
now empty and depleted.

Abandoned.

Gray and faded by years of trauma,
they erode like elderly pieces of used history.

Dreamland

Wind rushes through the crowns of naked trees,
quivering beneath a shroud of solitude
Light reflects off crystallized branches,
capturing elusive moments
Snow falling between empty arms,
lost in a mound of solidarity
Ice melting from frozen fingertips,
delicately plunder into a forgotten world

Moonlight

Moonlight reflecting off a blackened canvas of night’s design,
sultrily dancing in between the legs of models
parading down nature’s runway
underneath a blanket of stars.
Like a feather teasing the shore’s skin in a sensual game,
engineered precisely and charismatically to explore every unique detail.
A ballroom dance choreographed for inexperienced souls.
A silk scarf wrapped around the elongated necks of African women,
emphasizing their individuality.
Whispering lullabies to their children under the storybook of night,
illuminating their dreams with its silver lining.
A fairy tale ending.
