Caty Hiday Poem
I fell
into the pit
of darkness
of hurt
of tears
of my fears
of tiredness
of hate
but I rose
one hand at a time
to the top
to the place
of eternal hope
of joy
of understanding
of comfort
of grace
of love
of songs
of laughter
and I survived

Caty Hiday Poem
Our past comes back to haunt us
like an old wet dog
biting at our heels
We can run and run from it
but it will just come back
and we all know how that feels
We'll go for so long
and we'll think it's gone
but soon it will come crashing back
"God has forgiven" but what about ourselves
Could we ever survive
this vicious attack
Deep down inside we have to ask ourselves
"Can we really forgive all that's been done?"
"Can we ever get past our own past?"
We let it tear at our soul
We loose so much focus
Its time to rip off and discard this cast
The past is only that
The past
The past
Stop being deceived
The past
it's all the past
