But Who Are You?

who are you?
  I am the burning night
look into my crimson eyes
you want to know me,
take my hand,
I won't hurt you yet
show me where you live,
is it in a poem or a sieve
you fill with bourbon from a jar
hiddee hole beneath the bathroom drain?
are you ars poetica
or are you destined to expire at midnight
shoeless in the rain?
I ask again........
who are you?

Sliding Down the Rainbow

Stop your talking!

someone said............

"the elevator's turning red!"

I feel the pressure in my head,

   F
     O
        R
          G
            E
              T

the things you tried to say,
the night is dark,
the moon is gray,
the colors melted all away,

I scooped them up and licked them down
red and yellow,green and brown
I live to be the shades I found,

inside.........
I am dark no more
look inside the open door
of my lips and taste and see
what a rainbow love can be.

The Evening of My Soul

oh 'tis the evening of my soul and though I've often claimed it so,
now must pause and truly show
the scars and twisted wounds herein
for onward is no option now
and time must take its' bloody bow

where are the hands that soothed my burning brow
and where the smile to cheer me in my grief?
why they have gone to dust and none remain
the evil in the heart of time, the thief.

so pull the shades and bank the dying fire,
and please don't try to tell me that you care,
it really matters not how cold the bier
for when you look, there's nothing really there.

They Found Six Fingers

I'll say goodbye,
I'm leaving town,
I'm checking out
a hole I found,
beneath the bleachers
where I died,
the only time I really tried
to breach the rift,
"twixt here and there,

they found six fingers
and some hair,
from when I teleported home,
they always thought
I left alone,
but I took seven souls along,
to clear the path,
and sing our song,

  Remember when I begged
your kiss?
relinquished all ,to say I missed
going somewhere to the dance,
enticed you with a new romance?

But you were older and refused,
to sacrifice the world you'd lose
To tell me I was not a ghost,
You know ,it's me,
I miss
the most.

Resusitan Me Eldoran

Resusitan Me Eldoran,
remember who we were,
we rode across the desert,
even though I still loved her,

  In our secret caravan,
I knew that you would understand,
that you could never have my hand,
for that is who you were.

I could not comprehend the night,
the stars kept falling.,such a sight,
to spark the sands with beauty bright
of frankencense and myrrh.

Come lie down here beneath the moon
your beauty makes the angels swoon,
I shall not share your love too soon,
strange passions to bestir,

I simply want to read your mind,
uncharted world that I may find,
a remedy for being blind,
I think you have the cure.

As Man Descends

Down the dying corridor of time

 the incarnation forms,
 evil materializing...............
Monster with your hooded sight,
somnolent eyelids,
flutter feathery desire,
love writhes
in rending hands,
as man

Letting Go of You

Old wounds...........

slide the chains,

cut the bolts,

relinquish,

release,

respond

again

to life.

Mad Planets On Fire

Love striking the Northern stars,

waves breaking

    on our hopes

     beyond the moon,

         while we cloud

               the heavens

                 like mad planets

                    on

                         fire.

My Sole

If I was poured out on the ground............
the fishes of my soul would gasp
and flip and flop until at last ,
some homeless waif should mercy measure me,
and scoop me up and throw me to the sea.
