Time and Tide

Standing on the beach looking out at the water,
I had a moment of reflection of all that matters.

I realized that waves, the rhythm of ebbs and flows,
Are very much like the people in our lives.

The movement of the water, the relationship with time and tides,
Time and tides together making the difference in the strength of waves.

Time and the people in our lives, the relationships that enter into our world like the ebb of tides, often leave us like the flow, wondering if this is a test of ones own endurance, often leaving us feeling in some cases with little to no reassurance.

Natures beauty on the horizon as the sun sets and colors so majestic, bring you around to the understanding that nature, time, ebbs and flows are Gods rythmic clock reminding us to move forward.

Time nor tide will wait for us.

Maryland

Maryland says a big hello and
welcome in many ways, whether you
come for a month, week, or just the
day.

Americas largest estuary, with
towering Cypress trees makes you
want to take a deep breath and find
your harmony.

Restful views from surrounding
waters, from the bay to the beach
they are all easy to reach.

Yesteryears teachings of Civil War
battles and boasts the birthplace of
our nations "The Star Spangled
Banner".

Luck can be tested by those who
gamble, casinos boast jackpots but
you may leave in a grumble.

Agriculture is visible for miles
around as well as chicken houses,
and not trying to be funny but the
locals call it the smell of money.

Navigate the Chesapeake Bay for
bountiful fishing, and don't forget the
steamed crabs that are great for
dipping.

Destinations offer fun from the mountains
to the bay, but consider yourself
warned, you may want to stay!

So the next time you are considering
making a reservation,
I hope you will make Maryland your fun filled vacation.

Unconditional Love

I will never forget the cold fateful day my son said,
Hey mom, can I have a dog so we can play.

After much thought and laying down the rules,
We stopped by our local animal shelter one day after school.

Harley was a high spirited handful right from the start,
He had boundless energy but a gentle heart.

Our Golden Retriever a fence would not keep him in,
He would run away from home time and time again.

The passage of time seems to have mellowed our boy,
He is such a sweetheart it's hard not to spoil.

The years have passed quickly and he has slowed down,
But the love he has shown us still abounds.

I can hardly fathom the thought of his life ever coming to an end,
Our loyal, faithful, forever friend.

Harley has been a joy, a gift from the start,
Our sweet boy who will always have a piece of our heart.

Always

One proud Nana I will always be,
The bundle of joy God gave me.

At her sight I did stare,
Beautiful brown eyes and light brown hair.

What a wonderful gift our son gave to me,
When he told me I was a Nana to be.

The months seemed like years before she arrived,
Her cocoon was safe and warm allowing her to thrive.

A blessing from our son and his sweet bride,
Filled her Pop Pop and Nana with the greatest of pride.

To hold her and rock her by the fires warm glow,
With beautiful hands, precious smile, and crinkled up toes.

Our precious Savannah so innocent and sweet,
She is a light that shines bright to those she meets.

Always Savannah,
Always your Nana,
ALWAYS!

A Smile

A smile really can make the difference in somebody's day,
You never know what they may be feeling or know what to say.

Our world today presents many challenges and days filled with strife,
It has been said a smile can lower your blood pressure which could possibly save a life.

It is such a simple thing and takes little exertion,
The long term effects could possibly even change a person.

The next time you meet a gruff faced stranger,
Smile and hopefully it will lessen their anger.

Remember before you are to quick to judge,
Your smile just may be that much needed nudge.
