A Love As Old As Time

A tisket, a tasket a treasure, in mom's basket.
Old "love" letters stuck, inside a book, dare I take a secret look?
My dad's words are written there, words of "love" they both did share.
Between, the yarn and threads of time, I saw my parents youth unwine.
Their dreams and hopes were scattered there, among each page, of written
prayer.
Letter's mom reads everyday, especially now that dad's passed away.
It's hard to think, of them once young, with thoughts that "lovers" have.
It helps me realize now, why moms so very sad!
They had a special kind, of "love", the kind thats hard to find.
A "love" thats ever-lasting.....
A "love" as old as time.

"i'Ve Lived a Good Life, I'Ve Lived a Good Day"

Give me a day, blue skies and sunlight!
Give me a night, with clear stars so bright!
Give me a garden, rich soil to hoe.
Where I can see flowers and vegetables grow!
Give me a drink when I'm in great thirst!
Give me a child, with healthy new birth!
Give me a song, that touches my heart.
Give me a "love", that never shall part!
Give me a world, where all wars would cease!
A world full of "love", a world full of "peace!"
Then, I can say....
" I've lived a good life, I've lived a good day!"
Amen:

"if Ever I Shall Leave You"

If ever I shall leave you, it wouldn't be in spring.
For the sweet smell, of the flowers, makes, my heart, begin to sing.
If ever I shall leave you, in summer it couldn't be.
For the hot strong breeze, of summer, brings out the "love", in me!
And, in the cold harsh winds, of winter, you would need, my warmth, to cover thee.
So, I guess I'd leave, in fall, as the leaves cover the ground.
But, then I couldn't leave at all!
For you would always need, my love, around.
