Erasmus Austins Poem
NIGER DELTA
The Atlantic Ocean is your neighbor,
With its marine creatures in them
Your vegetations are your pride.
But the God of creation kept back something
In your earth, yes the black GOLD.
These have attracted the good the bad in
The name Exploration
Is exploration for the good all your children,
Still pursued, or the exploitation for the benefit of few
Every day vessels are loading out but none is
Offloading foods and drugs for your children
Deltas are howling for justice and equity
But the explorers and exploiters demand peace
Will it be too much to get schools, roads, and water
In exchanged for the black GOLD As a sign of justice
Will hostage taking bring development NO Deltas
But dialogue will, never stop crying for your Dues
Tell them it your rights and not privilege
For JUSTICE brings peace and not peace justice

Erasmus Austins Poem
Peace the force of bonds and cords
The amiable energy of unison
Have you showed yourself existing
Or have you distance yourself from us
When you are preached but not acted
Have you become so remote not
To show yourself or project
Your abilities
In the attendance of terror and violence
Why have you remained mute and inactive
Are you showing discouraged then your
Power will be scanty
Tell them PEACE you are a force not
To be neglected
Tell them PEACE you are liberal and accessible
But how many see you as desirable
Peace I urge you to standup for rights
And tell terror brutality and violence to
Sit down for their too many
Wrongs
