Embrace My Dreams

Can't seem to hold it in
Don't want to hide it anymore
Have to let it show
Let them all know
What's in my heart

I don't care what they think
Don't want to be caught in the drama
Can't let the chaos get the best of me
Must take a hold of my life

Don't want to be caged up
While the world passes by
Like the majestic dragonfly
It's time I open the door

With my own strength
To unlock the lock
Setting me free to take flight
To go off to find my happiness

If the world finds me strange
I'll take is as a compliment
Your words just make me strong
You'll never chip my soul

Don't tell me what path to take
Only I choose my own road
Obstacles that come my way
I have to learn to overcome

Mistakes can be corrected
Seeking answers to questions
A Person must grow on their own
Facing their own battles
That people don't understand

Can't let the chains of oppression
Bring me down in depression
Only I can break free of the constraints
If I wish to embrace my destiny

Let the world deal with their issues
I won't let the dissonance get me
Have to focus on the task at hand
Embracing my dreams by letting go

Ode To Adhd

Attention Defeceit Hyperactive Disorder
Split the letters out of the words
You get ADHD out of them
Let's take a closer look
Find out another meaning
To the condition.

A is for achiever
Accomplishments with honors
Passing with flying colors
A confident being with spunk.

D is for diligent
Quick on your feet
Sharp as a tack
Ready for the challenge
To take on tasks
And complete them right away.

H is for hope
Keeping the faith
Looking at the bright side
Turn things around
Hanging onto your dreams
Working to make them true.

D is for dynamic
A real go-getter
You get back up
When you fall
Not taking no
For an answer.

ADHD
ADD
AHD
DHD
HD
D
A

No matter how you spell it
Nor how you may look at it
It has many meanings
You take a closer look
And play around with the words.

Life Is a Tomato

Life is a stage
We are the performers
Giving it our all
For some-success
Others-epic fail.

Mockery speaks as tomatoes fly
Covering those that failed
Yet instead of moaning
They wipe the juice off their faces.

When life gives you tomatoes
You wipe it off your face
And make a pizza out of it
It tastes delicious each time
You keep trying to perform your best.

Is This Me

I look at myself in the puddle
That laid just below my feet
Yet when I look at the watery mirror
I see a different reflection of myself.

The person in the reflection
Is a different person of confidence
Someone that is brave and bold
With a bright smile on her face.

She has her head held high
Ready to take on the world
Looking toward a bright future
As she leaves tomorrow behind.

When I look down at her,
Is she looking up at me?
Am I just the tails of the coin,
While she is the head?

Am I just a figment
Of what I was before
That this reflection
Is the aftermath of growth?

Could this be who I am?
Is this woman the real me?
The me I am meant to be?
Or a possible me?

Yet when I looked closely
I could see that the one
Staring back at me
With a confidence smile
Was me...I am that woman.

The reflection in the puddle
Is the me that I am
The one with a smile on her face
Filled with bravery and confidence.

The real me, a figment
I am one and the same
In reality and in the puddle
This is the real me.

Bonds Between Worlds

I'm a dragonfly
Who flies alone
Yet in life
This dragonfly
Wants to fly
In a group than solo.

Though there are times
I want to be alone
To be with my thoughts
Have some serenity
But what is harmony
Without discord?

I envy the people in reality
Who have somebody to be with
A pack to run off on wild adventures
I just wish they could invite me
Along for the ride-even if it was for a day
To feel like that I belong with them.

I want to connect to people
But it's tough to form a bond
Like tying together a rope
To make a perfect knot
When I try to make one
It just looks distorted.

Is it because of my ADHD?
Is it because of my uniqueness?
Is it because I cling too much?
Maybe it isn't because they don't
See through the shell of a clam
To see the beautiful pearl within.

Reality can be tricky
Digitality is much easy
For I know I have people
Here in the digital world
Who welcome me with open arms
There for me if I ever feel down.

But Reality isn't bad either
For as an old saying goes
Your more happier with few
Than having thousands of friends
Because those closest to you
Will always have your back.

That goes for Digitality
The friends that I have
Will always be there for you
No matter if you live a part
Because their close in my heart.

Sometimes I am clouded with doubt
Caught in a sea of despair
When thinking such lonesome thoughts
But there is a hand reaching in
To bring me back to the Land of Happiness
Because my friends are with me.

Maybe I think too much on loneliness
In the real world to realize that
I have bonds with a few in reality
That are close to me just as the bonds
Of those in digitality are to me
I have a web of bonds without knowing myself.

The Web of bonds that trascend
The two worlds of reality and digitality
I've made a bond with incredible people
Who enjoy my company as I enjoy theirs
The times we spend together are precious in reality
Just as the times in digitality are also precious.

This dragonfly isn't alone
I have my own flock to fly with
Even if their far away from her home
With a few nearby to converse
I'm happy to know that I have friends
In Reality and Digitality.

Summer Memories

Summer is fleeting
Vacation is ending
Festivals are passing
Season is changing.

Warmth begins to wind down
As Autumn slowly creeps
Leaves slowly change colors
Lavishing in gold
As they part from branches.

Though summer is going
Something is staying
That will hold to heart
For years to come.

Placing feet in the water
Feeling the coolness sweep
Across our ankles so high
As we stare off at the sky.

The rainy days
Thundrous nights
Hail struck down
Golf balls from the sky.

Ferris wheel that I rode
As the fog swept through
Adding a mysterious atmosphere
As it shrouded the shoreline.

The fun we had at the meetup
Dressing up at Veteran's Park
Acting crazy and silly
Just being ourselves.

Birthdays celebrated
Friendships honored
Bonds strengthened
Trials beated

Though summer is ending
As the seasons are changing
Yet the memories created
Will never be shaded.

I'M Thankful

Thanksgiving is a day
To be thankful for all
That we have in life
With those that we love.

I'm thankful for my family
For being there for me
Always there to help
Supportive and loving.

I'm thankful for my friends
Whom I'm happy to have met
That brought joy and light
To my life as I did for them.

I'm thankful for music
That cheers me up when blue
Inspires and moves me
To help my creativity flow.

I'm thankful for life
Although there are storm clouds
The sun shines through them
To bring light to the world.

Those are the things
I'm quite thankful for
On this glorious Thanksgiving
Especially the delicious turkey.

Can'T Break Me

Out of the darkness
Struck like a lightning bolt
He came without warning
Like a lion striking his prey.

He may have my purse
Took all that I had with me,
But you can't take my pride
You can't break my spirit.

Though in a state of shock and horror
I know that I'll recover
For time heals all wounds
The piper will pay the price.

I'll keep my head high
Keep looking for tomorrow
Growing stronger and being wiser
From the trauma that I've faced.

I won't let it happen
I'll be on my guard
For like the strongest steel
You won't break me.

Mental Independence

They say were strange
Lazy, underachievers, fools, odd, eccentric
They don't got a clue about us
Don't got all the facts to separate from myth
They don't care about our well-being
Castrating mentally disabled from the herd.

They say their just a fable
An urban myth to cover an excuse
For tricky disorders like ADHD and others
I'm living proof that breaks the mold

I'm an achiever with a dream
What makes me weak
Just makes me stronger
Uniqueness is the new norm
Being abnormal is in
Normal is over-rated.

Tired of being discarded
It's time for acceptance
To spread awareness for all
Mental justice for everyone!

Mentality needs nurture
Like a seed needs care
Make a garden of flora
Than a garden of dread.

Look with your heart
Than your deceiving eyes
To see the problem within
That it's in there clear as day
More physical hidden in sight.

Fragility of the mind
Is a precious crystal
That can crack to pieces
If not taken special care
So it can shine like the sun.

Tired of being pushed around
Not being taken seriously
Like the other disabilties
I'm here to shout out
For mental freedom.

Time to break the chains
That have oppressed us
Lets show them
That we deserve
Mental independence for all.

The Magic of Christmas

The most magical of holidays
That comes, but once a year
Bringing joy and happiness
Warming the hearts with love
Like a warm cup of hot cocoa
To enjoy on a cold, winter day.

A time of peace on Earth
Goodwill toward men
Helping those in need
By giving from the heart
To show we care.

Where the impossible becomes possible
Anything can happen during the season
As there's a certain magic in the air
Drifting around like fallen snowflakes
That create a gorgeous winter wonderland.

Loved ones gather together
From friends and family
To recent acquaintances
Enjoying the holidays
Creating new memories to cherish.

Christmas brings out the best
Of the people in the world
For love and kindness
Are the greatest gifts
That come from the heart.
