Winter Depression

Like a madwomen
Hibernation is key
When the streets are cold and lonely
And I lye awake in solitude
Battling the disease of my mind
And the ever present thoughts
that I am tainted and unlovable
So I barricade myself from life
And ferret out the constant chatter
In my brain
And I cry every morning
For the sun to return again
And peace to bring a smile
To my lonely heart
if winter doesn't break me
Nothing can
For the cold is insanity
That bites bitterly
At simple souls like me.

Miamis Little Havannah

As I walk these streets of sadness
Everywhere désolation and madness
Bars that keep the crazy out
And like a jail people cry and shout
Please set me free from poverty
And let me know serenity
Yet still they walk with smileless
faces
Living in such desolate places
Landfills where they shouldnt be
A life that seems pure misery
It seems the only break they find
Is alcohol that numbs their mind
Where such diverse cultures mingle
Youd think youd see more than brillo
and needles
Bums and dealers walk the night
Many races pick pointless fights
I look around and see walking dead
With fear ringing throughout their
head
Life here is not as i expected
Havannahs streets just plain
neglected
I thought theyd all be happy to be
free
Not fighting and hating so
prejudicely
I thought in Miami theyd welcome
me
Instead its like I have HIV
And as this gloom settles around
You can almost here an eerie sound
Of tears and pain that calls to me
To hang my head in utter misery
And I know that i can no longer be
Living muserably in Floridaas Miami.
