A Poem, the Poet

This pen writes not a story,
but a life upon a page; its glory.
Love for the writing; the heart,
thumping, beat after beat, never apart.
Conceived of bones, the ash; this pen,
to ink bleeding veins, attached.
A cut, this scrap; of emotions peeled.
The scaring tissue; with Soul is healed.
Lightning arcs through nerve endings' link;
Dreams are sparks. Thoughts, the ink.
Not a story, but a life and a pen.
For this is a poet, his poem with no end.

Stubbed Toe

Silently washed ashore
this precarious log; from
where did you come, to
where do you go?
My dog, on you he'll
chew... I hate you.

Her

Carefree and intense,
People who lie.
Stories of glory;
I sit here and cry.

Treadmill of anger,
Rolling beneath me.
I long for her grace,
Her touch, her healing.

She is the one,
The only chosen.
I lie here waiting,
Wanting and broken.

Airport

Airports; people and planes,
Traffic jams and baggage claim.
Noisy, rumbling, to the gate I'm
running.

Looking at the screen for my flight,
Delayed? What is causing this
madness?

Dragging my bags; this way and
that.
Smoking lounge, where are you at?
Find a store, buy a book, gum and
a key-chain.
Drinking coffee, in a hurry, spilling
on my shirt - a stain.

Sigh. Get to gate, sit down, relax
with a napkin. Why stain, why ruin
my day?

All around they are yapping,
howling, and barking.
Making no sense, but they
understand.
Nodding and smiling. Switching
flights they're exhausted.
On the phone, on the laptop, on
the floor doing push-ups.

Need to email, need to talk, need
to connect. Why not send, an SMS?
Smiling, I look around and laugh.
plug in my headphones, pull out
the laptop and connect.

Anchor Chain

Each one I meet becomes a link in this chain,
Interlocking burdens becoming nothing but pain,
Wrapped tightly; interwoven emotions weighing
heavier and heavier, my brain.

Metallic feelings shine, glisten in the light; chain links reflect to the sky while I struggle in this sea,

no one is searching, no search and rescue…
for me.

The weight of all, pulling me down under,
the chains growing with each struggle.
Sinking below the surface, gasping for air;
Why!? Why must none of them care?

Just pull and pull, these burdens on my soul;
Pinching my body, the pain so striking; waves
Crashing into me, pushing me under again.

World is unfair, people always despair, each wave;
they topple over another; thinking
Their burdens are worse than the others.

The chain continues to grow, the links proliferate,
The weight unbearable and so, I just sink.
The waves over head, but down below is peace.

The Marauder Rage

A marauder’s rage and heroic might.
Castle enchanted by savior’s shield,
The peasant looks upon her light.

Emblazoned eyes and flurried delight,
Odds against him, salvation healed.
A marauder’s rage and heroic might.

Soaked ground by bloodied knight,
Standing tall on fallow field,
The peasant looks upon her light.

Soul emboldened and ready for fight,
Dragon’s fire, the enemies kneeled,
A marauder’s rage and heroic might.

The bell tolls and dragons take flight,
With sword in hand, harvest yield,
The peasant looks upon her light.

Enemies scattered amidst their fright,
Soul and heart have thus been peeled,
A marauder’s rage and heroic might.
For the peasant looks upon her light.

Komorebi

Rays of sunlight combing through
the branches, a kiss of warmth
eroding this darkness. Her flock
of hair flowing, surrounding my
fingers; misty air, her breath
teases my skin; a chilly blowing.

Time stood still, icy stalking.
Her voice rides the wind, an echo
talking and bouncing in my head.
Stunning beauty floating on
butterfly wings, a fluttering
elegance around me.

Her image, forever etched in memory.
Continuing to walk - lost in the
woods of frozen time; my ally.
I smile endlessly soaking her in.

Enticed Into the Storm

An earthen vessel, driven by wind;
I'm tossed upon rocks by waves of sin.
Patience as captain; I'm unsteady at helm.
I wavered in faith; I'm lost in thy realm.

Rough seas of vanity; temptations conceived.
Drowning my soul as the flesh deceived.
Thy word is the light; the Sun's burning rays;
For mercy and salvation in thy name I pray.

Watchmaker

Somewhere a watch is heard;
Riding the waves as the gears turn.
Echoes within ripples, never ends.
The waves splash, the shore bends.

Tick-tock, tick-tock, tick-tock, tick-tock..

The freeze of the past, a misty rain.
Forever here to last, memories reign.

Tick-tock, tick-tock, tick-tock..

Seconds viciously tearing, ripping;
Away at my mind chipping, daring.
To be at a loss, to be frozen.
Between my gums a piece of floss,
Fragile teeth cracking; broken.

Tick-tock, tick-tock..

Condensation icy on its face;
Its hands angry and shaking in place.
Screaming as minutes fade,
Dripping water; ripples made.

Tick-tock..

Life in time - this tomb of mine.

Tick..

Follow Your Bliss

A smoky inhalation,
Burning desire... Lonely.
Crowds circulating, a click.
Fire kissing, my lips; Warmed.

Tangible lover or feigned hope?
Ember flickers, a wisp of smoke.
Embraces me, no feeling of alone.
The crackling, every breath; Happy.

A halo at my fingertips, mending
Heart and Soul, easing The Mind.
Suffocation no more, the crowd,
Endured.

Laughter, a replaced smile.
Blank faces and common names.
Feeling disgust, pungent smell.
Another puff, another exhale.

Angel weeping, devil smirks.
Begging dependence, but only penny.
Out of breath, chasing; it's engine #1.
Looking, searching; nothing but lint.

Frantic, in a panic... trying to quit.
Engulfed in flames, choking ashes.
Destruction, breaking prisms.
Reflection Of myself, white stares; mannequins.

Drowning, ever surrounding.
A spark, a light, an eye...
Tranquil calm, sea subsides.
Hope, serenity, an air of respite.

Ah! A light; so fragile.
Lost island, a cast away.
My lover, my friend; absorbing.
How I miss you; longing ruin.

Never again, you fiend!
I'm sorry, friend instead?
