The Call That Kills

And yet again my siren calls.
It calls and calls me further.
Further, farther it calls me nearer.
Further until the front door I hinder
to take a step in my nightly wander.
A wonder of my somber slumber.

And yet again my siren calls
an enticement for my fatal fall
into that which my siren calls.

At the door I am a footfall more.
A step on to my dream-side shore
then again more my siren soars.
My siren, she only implores
oh too deep in my follied core
to step one more on this dream-side shore.

And yet again my siren calls
a step forthwith on shore to fall
My wearied feet my siren calls

A lover neither nor my siren calls
me either or my heart so withered.
A blizzard's cord my siren sender
take from me thy heart you vendered
leave me with my wounds own rendered.
My siren calls a thought I ponder.
My siren calls so still I wander.
