Steven Deeter Poem
Baby just lately I’ve been feeling blue
Life has been lonely without seeing you
I’m up in the morning before the bright lights
And thinking of you deep into the night
I got out this morning; I hoped you’d be there
I finished my shower but you were nowhere
I wanted to see you to relieve the pain
Just being without you drives me insane
When they let me out to clean up my cell
I was dragging my heels but I thought, “What the hell”
I gambled the lot and looked really hard
And low and behold you were out playing cards
My heart started thumping real hard in my chest
I gambled this much why not bet the rest
The good lord shined down it was my day indeed
I saw Mrs. Fox go into special needs
You blew me a kiss and I blew one to you
I said “I love you” and you said “I love you too”
I walked back and forth I couldn’t get enough
Until Mr. Fox hollered, “Hey Deeter, times up”
I was high on life acting like a clown
When St. Lewis told me to write it all down
I’m back in my cell a smile on my face
That’s “Just What I Needed” to deal with this place
You give me the strength to keep up the fight
“Thank you Brooke Elise, I love you, Good night”

Steven Deeter Poem
I see your face, your beautiful smile
For you I'd walk that endless mile
I cherish your beauty 6 times a day
When you get your meal, and give back your tray
I see nothing else, the blinders are on
It’s just you and me, the whole world is gone
We share the same roof but it isn’t the same
I know it’s my fault, I accept the blame
I can’t be without you, you have to be mine
Nothing will stop me, not even time
The seed has been planted. It will grow, you’ll see
This love will blossom between you and me
As I lie in this jail cell thinking of you
I know in my heart what I need to do
I need to be with you for all of my life
I hope you’ll permit me to make you my wife
Tyler and Catie told me what to do
“Don’t throw her back, Dad, keep her with you”
I know we can live in harmony and peace
“For This Chance I Beg You”. Please Brooke Elise.
