Leading Lady

Red lips I see them in dreams
Bare chest I wish I felt it here
I wish I could have everything with you
A connection spiritual, and also one in the physical

I want to be the one you call
Name whispered on your lips
Desperate pleas, I could be the one
To treat you as a good man deserves

Trust me, I'm an actress
I could be anyone you request
But I hope you would need me
And not some woman playing parts
And memorizing unoriginal lines

I want to be the girl you see
In dreams, not just the one that
Stands aside, watching others
Take the stage with you as
The leading man

I don't want to be the girl behind the scenes
I want to be your leading lady

Drive Me To Distraction

The color of your eyes drive me to distraction
The blue contrasting with the gray of your pant suit
What are you looking at? What do you see?
Are you watching me?

The sound of your voice reminds me of the wind
Cool and comforting, like the breeze on a beach
As your voice takes in words and gives them out
Like waves on the water, I am mezmorized

Your footsteps pound like drums causing the beat to resonate through the room
Through me to the core of my soul and the tips of my toes
Where are you going? Where will you end?
The footsteps create a song in my head

So as I listen, watch, hear you, I think
Where are you going? Who are you watching?
I wish I could say
You drive me to distraction

A Kiss Between Pages

I placed a kiss between these pages
My lips touching the seam
Represents the bond I have to these lips
And the heat they conceal

I placed my fingers on the seam
Imagining the spine was skin
Help me get in touch with myself
As well as yourself

I placed a kiss between these pages
The kiss I wish to receive as well as give
I imagine skin between my hands
An intimate touch between lovers
A kindness between friends

My name is on these lips
As you breath out your desires
On uncontrollable sighs
Your desires are mine to give

I placed a kiss between these pages
For me to give and you receive

Birds

Birds
How they fly
Far as the finest sight
Could see

Birds fly
With a freedom people
Wish to possess, how graceful we all could be
Like birds, with no fears ceasing
The journey to be taken

Free to fly in this endless sky
From dawn to twilight
Wish we could feel as free
As the creatures who make a
Home in the clouds and expanse
Of endless blue

Birds
Wings spread high
Above the city in endless blue
How you seem so free

Relax

I'm not exhausted
But you look like you haven't slept
For days, why are you trying
To impress me so much

Believe me, I'm not worth all
This trouble, why don't you relax
Because half the time I have
No idea what to do or say

So relax, take a seat
Grab a chair and drink the coffee
Residing on the table
Show me the smile and I'll sing
You a tune for you to remember

Believe me, I'm not worth this trouble
Just take some time to collect your thoughts
I always have pennies if you need them

So take some time and relax
Because I'll be here when you
Come around again
