Tawona Mzila Ranganawa Poem
I envy.
I envy your family for they get to see you everyday.
I want the best for you in this world
I envy the person that sits next to you in class for they get to see you for free.
I envy the way you are not happy without me
I envy the way you want to chat with me the whole day.
I envy the way you dont want to sleep next to anyone but me.
I envy the way you love me
And I envy how you imagine yourself as my wife
Marry me.

Tawona Mzila Ranganawa Poem
I LOVE HER…
I prayed because l was in need
I prayed because l had her
I prayed so l could keep her,
Need her,
Have her love me.
She has the patience of a saint
The splendor and sincerity of a Princess
She has the voice of a diva,
The beauty of a goddess
And the eyes of a women in love.
I love her because she loves me
she means so much to me
I pray for her more than l pray for myself
She is the greatest example of love
That l can ever give anyone
When I hold her hand,
she holds mine tighter,
When I put her on my chest,
she slips into a sweet dream.
I love her because she replied my love
I love her because she has an ethereal grace that is breathtaking
I try, l have tried, tried so hard to forget her
But l have found it hard to forget her,
To leave her
Because l love her.

Tawona Mzila Ranganawa Poem
I LOVED YOU ONCE
Somewhere in my secret heart I was so afraid .That the happiness I feel when I'm with you-I would wake up and find decayed. I would glow at the mere scent of you, swept in by the Atlantic wave like a calming morning breeze. Your smile, a reminder of the memories we shared: of laughter, of pain and passion unchained. Your voice a soothing note tearing through my chest and reaching for my soul
Your passion and direction drove me to be a better me,
to build towards my own dreams while supporting you as you lay the foundation for yours. When you stumbled I was by your ear whispering reminders of the strength that becomes you I lived outside my comfort zone for me, for you, for us.. But the secret in my heart lays bare for all to see I sit here in retrospect, the words tatted on my heart in bold... Evidence that I LOVED YOU ONCE
Counted every star for you, you were the one.
You brought magic in my life
I loved you, Oh yes I did
But I loved you once
It’s now a lost desire, a dream forgotten.
The river is now dry; the sun doesn’t shine on us no more.
Cries in the dark, no one can hear
Shadows of what used to be.
A lie shared with a stranger
Beauty of what could have been.
A moment of madness that almost made us lose ourselves
That angelic smile, that golden charm that got me twisted
I loved you once, it’s now just a tattoo on my heart

Tawona Mzila Ranganawa Poem
Oh God refresh my soul
I feel so alone and lost
So suffocated by my sorrows
I want to get on my knees and pray
But these tears are blinding me
There is a hole in my heart...
Only you Lord can fill
Oh Lord refresh my soul
I know I am a sinner but I come
before you to cleanse my heart
Do not let my enemies overcome me
Do not let me fall into the devil's trap
Protect me Lord; without you my
ways are lost
Be the engineer of my life
Oh Lord refresh my soul
I am broken and my heart is heavy
Mend me Lord with your love
I cry to you father to refresh my soul
This weight is too much on my small
head.
Forgive me for my countless sins
Although I don't deserve your
forgiveness but Lord find it in your
heart to discharge a blessing my
way
I am lost without you.
All that I am begging for is for you
Lord to visit my soul again and
refresh it.

Tawona Mzila Ranganawa Poem
Love is love
Love is not love until you love
me
Love is not love until you have
read the constitution of my
heart
Love is not love until you share
by bed with me
Love is not love until your
parents know my name
Love is not love until you tell
me that you love me
Love is love when you love me
I love you my dearest

Tawona Mzila Ranganawa Poem
She no longer smiles
She broke the one heart that loved her the most
A realization paid with lateness
She now tents in the shadow of what used to be her happiness
Wishing for the past to be present
Cussing the devil every night for making her fall into that trap
That trap that deprived her of her happiness
She no longer smiles; her bitterness engulfs it all
Memories, memories keep her awake
With a tear on her cheek
Crying for the only person dear to her heart
She sees herself as the Judas Iscariot of his heart
With every fiber of her heart, she wants him back
She misses his laughs, hugs, kisses
An unforgivable sin, the knowledge that he is no longer coming back haunts her
What can she do with the love that she is left with?
Crippled thoughts of what will never be
She no longer smiles but she weeps
He went away with all his fairytales
Stories that he would whisper to her ears as she slips into a dream
She no longer smiles but she weeps
Love long gone, lost in confusion
Replaced by bitterness and regrets
A mirror stolen from her, never to appreciate her beauty
She no longer smiles but she weeps.

Tawona Mzila Ranganawa Poem
FEARS
I stare back at my fears
Telling them that I am now adequate
I am now stronger than they are
I fear no more
I am now like little David with a sling going against the mighty Goliath
I fear no more, for my fears are not real
I am now powerful and greater
For my father in heaven protects me
I fear not, for I am his son
He called me and I answered
Now I dance with rejoice
That I am whole again and not inadequate
I fear not, for he is with me
I am mightier and he carries me on his shoulder
Enemies turned into friends
For his plans I will follow
He fights for me and faithful I will remain
As floods, strong winds try to stir fear
I will call on his name for protection
When I can take it anymore
I will kneel down and pray
For he will fight all the fear
I fear no more,
For he is with me and he will continue to bless and protect me
I am adequate now because of him

Tawona Mzila Ranganawa Poem
A soldier for love
Salute to all the love comrades!
Those who laid down their dignity, arrogance for love
Those who wear rings as a gesture of the battle well fought
Today i wore my camouflage to fight my own war.
Fighting a war to resuscitate my heart
I have my AK 47 on my back ready to fight for love.
Although I have been heartbroken a few times
But i still throw out those grenades of love,
Hoping, hoping one day that I will be able to throw it and someone grabs it
I am a soldier for love
Wounded, betrayed and shot at
But still, still I continue with my struggle
I am a soldier, a man of steel
I fight for what I believe
I fight for love
My hope is not to die in this struggle
I carry the burden now for my children sake, I fire on
I am a soldier for love
I only bow down to the one I love
When it comes to love, I am always on the front line
For I am a soldier for love

Tawona Mzila Ranganawa Poem
The Drunkard
Great minds drink together
I drink a little not that much
I love my bottle more than any of my girlfriends
Even my mother knows that
I am a drunkard, a professional one
I love to drink
I have this kind of relationship with my bottle
Forged for a long time...
I am a drunkard, I drink a lot, and yes I do
No woman can take me away from my bottle
I drink, that’s what I was born for
Let me sip and forget tomorrow
For I am a drunkard, all I know is my bottle
There is no betrayal in drinking
This state I love, were I am at par with my soul
Where I feel like I am the king of the world
I am a drunkard; I dance sometimes when I am drunk
I sing more than any choir when I am drunk
I am a drunkard and I am in love with my bottle
It will stay that way, until kingdom come
For I am a drunkard and a professional one for that matter

Tawona Mzila Ranganawa Poem
The student bar
I went there just to see
All the decency lost
Nudity everywhere
Parents don't have a clue
The Noise , the drunkness ,the drama
Pretense celebrities
I went there just to see
Embarrassed to say, words fail me
A mere look tells you all
This place, a reflections of the horrors of our society
A little hell
When do they grow up
I just went there to see
All the chaos , flying bottles
Church people, oh i am embrassed to say
Those smiles and that socialising unity
Beauty distorted, love measured
The height of the voices
I just went there to see but what i saw i am embarrassed to say.
