Collette Mbamalu Poem
Is not life for
love?
where is love in
animal?
...who has no
conscience
without a thought
they mate
...a passion without
a face
it only takes a
craving
I married an animal
incredible a hulk
despicable as
vulture
unbend-able a human
seeking nothing but
self
...too late i am
married!!!
Let me go if going
is loosing
how be i bound in
lost esteem
better am bitten by
lions
than the sores of
your words
at least with lion,
i’ll be dead
...with your words,
am a living dead
what manner of hope
is grave?
yet for such i will
trade my ring
...my yearn is to
farewell
if i lose a servant,
i’ll wail till i
fade
a beggar’s death is
a mourn
unforgettable
if i lose you, i
missed nothing!
When you go, i‘ll
grow
when you fall, i’ll
rise
when you are not
near
i have nothing to
fear
...sooner i tell you
there was never
human in you

Collette Mbamalu Poem
Let us make man
..so He said
but when need arose
who was made?
...that’s were it all began
who the made
now the maid
lurk in the cold
...once an equal
who, bearer of child
seasons of travail
...times and times
wombs of nation
who the single
...a barb for aging
who the teen
trapped and raped
who father’s pride
broken in secret
abused of a blood
who the orphan
too bad i met life
who the helpless
...if only i was a man
who the widow
in sneer of foes
Who the mother
with breast so liberal
who the leader
tough triumphing
who the friend
...forever for keeps!
who the sister
...thicker than blood
who the grandma
called the witch
who the wife
faithful to the unfaithful
...a pain beyond words
who the childless
in years of tears
who the victim
no soul can bear
who disabled
why me?
who dead
screams of dearth
who the ugly
needy and wanting
who,..who else?
once the need...
now the needy!

Collette Mbamalu Poem
With each tick, a sag
Still in the lag
some in neglect
demise as death
dumb as the sea
Still waters run deep
diverse tongues and beliefs
black clay however beautiful
none is voice
...none but passion
Alas!..the power of passion
A mandate to be
once a whisper
later,..a mantra
Feat worth dying
Passion is a jailer
A limit, better than laws
nothing is policy without passion
till you dare enough
little you will know

Collette Mbamalu Poem
EARTH- MARCH 6/13
O just arms! where
went thee?
thy voice is null
though near as
breath
Why?...the bird i
let fly
same i never find
You hide life from
sight
but let spirits
glide
So low, you watch
men
a mute enliven
Where is your
sceptre?
How old is your
time?
Sitting still
...sealing secrets!
Am lord...am earth
My skin is brown
eyes without doors
My hair is dust
I strut with pride
a blow, you go
On my lips lie no
lies
My charge is balance
My labour is
timeless
...cooking and
stirring
belly with fumes
test my taste
In truth is bitter
Gold diggers!
before they were...i
was!
beasts i sneezed,
green i coughed
i bury all but one
...truth!
Justice, however
old;
assured will marry
she cried a river
...by me, she’ll
walk aisles
adorned for a kill
the ring her prize
she is bride
and i...vow!

Collette Mbamalu Poem
One womb
two faces
lust or love
before lion, one is king
tender as a bird
tough as a deer
a wind beneath wings
in winter, you cling
up mountains, down drains
every climb a vein
a sure...at stake as death
At a blow the fur stays
but gone till never, lust strays
easy with stranger, harder with friends
...lust wears the look
but cuddle no history
alas! lust is lie
love? that is life!
the choice is yours
in season and out
endless a love...smiling but broken
not a piece irreplaceable
Love or lust!
screams of absence or bliss of cruelty
the voice of distance; which can bear?
one is faith; the other, fate
one agape; the other appetite
...all i can give; what i can get
the real world or the still world
wake up dreamer, both has life...
one is moving...one a movie
better die loving
than live lusting
